Ring Doorbell Wired Installation Guide

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing and setting up your Ring Doorbell Wired. Ensure a safe and efficient installation by following these guidelines.

Getting Started

Before beginning, identify your existing doorbell chime and ensure power is turned off at the breaker. If you do not have an existing doorbell system, a Plug-in Adapter can be used. Visit ring.com/accessories for more information.

Installation Steps

Power Off: Turn off power at the circuit breaker for your doorbell. Consult an electrician if unsure.
Chime Bypass: Install the included Jumper Cable to bypass your existing doorbell chime. This is compatible with doorbell systems supplying 8–24 volts AC.
Uninstall Existing Doorbell: Remove your old doorbell and disconnect wires, ensuring they remain accessible.
Mounting: Mark screw holes, install anchors if needed (for stucco, brick, or concrete), and then screw in the Ring Doorbell using the provided mounting screws. Feed excess wiring back into the wall.
Restore Power: Turn the power back on at the breaker. Your Ring Doorbell should light up and speak when ready.
App Setup: Download the Ring app, select 'Set Up a Device', and follow the in-app instructions.
Secure Device: Re-attach the faceplate and use the security screw to secure the doorbell.
