IV - BEFORE USE

A - Advice on Energy Saving

To reduce the overall environmental impact (e.g., energy consumption), please ensure that your product is installed in accordance with the user manual, and that the space where the appliance is installed is sufficiently ventilated.

B - Touch Controls

The touch controls respond to a simple touch; no significant pressure is required. The touch controls are activated when the first phalanx is fully positioned on the touch control (see diagram). Each press emits a 'beep' to indicate that the requested action has been registered. Ensure that the control keys are always clean and dry and that no object obstructs their operation. Note: even a slight film of water can disrupt the proper functioning of the touch controls.

C - Cookware

The cookware used is very important for cooking, especially the base, as it is in direct contact with the hob's heating element. The following precautions will ensure reliable, efficient, and optimal cooking.

D - Induction Operation

Induction cooking is a safe, advanced, efficient, and economical cooking technology. It works using electromagnetic fields that generate heat directly in the pot, rather than indirectly by heating the glass surface. The glass only becomes hot because the pot eventually reheats it.

Choosing the right cookware for an induction hob. Only ferromagnetic cookware is suitable for induction cooking. Look for the induction symbol on the packaging or on the bottom of the pot. You can check if your cookware is suitable by performing a magnetic test. Bring a magnet close to the bottom of the pot. If it is attracted, the pot is suitable for induction. If you don't have a magnet:

  1. Put water in the pot you want to check.
  2. Follow the steps described in the "Start of cooking" section.
  3. If the ʹ symbol flashes and the water does not heat up, the pot is not suitable.

Cookware made from the following materials is not suitable: pure stainless steel, aluminum or copper without a magnetic base, glass, wood, porcelain, ceramic, and earthenware. If the base of the cookware is only partially ferromagnetic, only the ferromagnetic zone will heat up. This may mean that the heat is not distributed evenly. The non-ferromagnetic zone may not reach a sufficient temperature for cooking. The ferromagnetic zone will also be reduced if the cookware base material contains aluminum, for example. This may mean that the cookware will not get hot enough or may not even be detected. The material(s) of the cookware base can affect the cooking result. Using pots and pans made of materials that distribute heat evenly, such as stainless steel pans with a three-layer base, saves time and energy. Use flat-bottomed cookware; if the bottom of the cookware is uneven, it can impair heat transfer. It is also important that the diameter of the cookware is sufficient for automatic detection, and therefore for the hob to operate.

The table below shows the minimum diameters of cookware to use.

VI - CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Overflow

In case of overflow of water (e.g., cooking water) onto the control panel, the hob will turn off. It can be restarted after correctly removing the water and drying the control panel.

Overheating Protection

The hob is equipped with a safety temperature detector. In case of internal temperature overheating, it automatically stops until the temperature returns to a safe level.

Small Object Detection

Small ferromagnetic objects such as spoons or knives can sometimes be left inadvertently on the cooking zones. To prevent them from benefiting from the induction magnetic field and becoming hot, this hob is designed so that small objects are not detected by the magnetic field and therefore do not experience the effects of induction. These objects will therefore not be hot if they remain on the cooking surface.

Before any cleaning or maintenance operation, please disconnect the electrical power supply. Set all accessible controls to the OFF position.

When cleaning or maintaining this appliance, please follow the information in this notice. To ensure the reliability of this appliance, keep it in good condition even though it has been designed to minimize maintenance. Appliance parts that come into contact with food should be cleaned regularly.

Clean the exterior with a cloth or a soft sponge dampened with water; this will allow for uniform cleaning. For more stubborn dirt, use hot water with neutral soap. Do not use sharp or pointed objects that could scratch the surface. Avoid using acidic substances (lemon juice, white vinegar) on stainless steel parts if your appliance contains them. Do not use solvents or abrasive cleaning products on plastic parts.

Types of SoilingHow to CleanImportant!
Daily soiling on the glass (fingerprints, marks, stains left by food or non-sugary splashes on the glass)Apply a hob cleaner while the glass is still warm (but not hot!). Rinse and wipe with a clean cloth or paper towel. When the hob is off, there is no indication of "hot surface", but the cooking zone may still be hot! Be extremely careful. Robust sponges, certain nylon sponges, and harsh/abrasive cleaning products can scratch the glass. Always read the label to check if your cleaning product or sponge is suitable. Never leave cleaning residues on the hob: the glass could be stained.
Overflows, spills, and splashes of hot sugar on the glassRemove them immediately with a toothless knife or a razor scraper adapted for ceramic hobs. Hold the blade or utensil at a 30° angle and scrape the soiling or spill towards a cool area of the hob. Clean the soiling or spill with a cloth or paper towel. Follow the steps in the "Daily soiling on the glass" section above.Remove any food stains and splashes as soon as possible. If left to cool on the glass, they may become difficult to remove or permanently damage the surface. Risk of cuts: when safety covers are retracted, a scraper blade is as sharp as a razor. Use with extreme caution and always store it in a safe place out of the reach of children.
Overflow onto the control panelTurn off the hob. Absorb the spilled liquid. Wipe the touch control area with a sponge or a damp cloth. Completely dry the area with a paper towel. Turn the hob back on.The hob may emit a beep and turn off by itself, and the touch controls may not work if there is liquid on them. Make sure to wipe the touch control area before turning the hob back on.
