3D Data Mode

Enable/disable for some workouts. If enabled, the watch calculates distance using 3D data, considering altitude and slope changes for actual route distance. If disabled, projection distance (2D distance) is calculated based on the traversed route.

Visual Description: A graph showing two lines, one labeled '3D' (red) and one '2D' (blue). The 3D line shows elevation changes, while the 2D line is flat, illustrating the difference in distance calculation.

Wrist Side

For some workouts (e.g., tennis), wear the device on the hand holding the racket for accurate data. If using the right hand for the racket, wear the watch on the right hand.

Swimming Pool Length

Refers to lane length. Watch calculates swimming data based on set lane length. Set corresponding lane length for each pool for accurate evaluation.

Recalibrate (Treadmill)

In treadmill workout mode, calibrate according to actual distance after each exercise. Calibration with >0.5 km distance helps the watch learn running habits for more accurate distance. If significant difference persists after multiple calibrations, recalibrate via App List > Workout > Treadmill > Settings > More > Recalibrate.

Down Swing Direction (Golf)

For golf, wear the device on the hand corresponding to your golf swing direction for accurate data. If down swing is left (hitting ball right to left), wear watch on left hand.

Special Workout Modes – Swimming

Workout Terms:

  • Trip: Lane length in pool swimming mode.
  • Stroke: Complete stroke motion while wearing the watch.
  • Stroke rate: Number of strokes per minute.
  • DPS: Distance of a complete stroke.
  • SWOLF: Indicator of swimming scores, evaluating speed. Pool SWOLF = Duration of single lap (seconds) + Number of strokes in single lap. Open-water SWOLF = lap distance of 100 meters. Smaller SWOLF indicates higher efficiency.

Stroke Recognition

Watch recognizes strokes in swimming modes and displays the main stroke used.

Stroke TypeDefinition
FreestyleFreestyle stroke
BreaststrokeBreaststroke
BackstrokeBackstroke
ButterflyButterfly
MedleyMore than one stroke is used when swimming, with each stroke in a similar proportion

Touch Screen During Swimming

The touch screen automatically disables during swimming to prevent unintentional touches and water interference. Control workout with watch buttons. Touch screen re-enables after workout ends.

Workout GPS Positioning

For Outdoor workouts, wait for successful GPS positioning on the Workout preparation screen. Tap the green status bar to begin. This ensures complete workout data and prevents inaccuracy.

Positioning Guide:

  1. If prompted to update AGPS, start Zepp app and connect to watch to update AGPS. This reduces signal search time.
  2. If GPS signal icon flickers during positioning, an open area offers faster positioning. Nearby buildings may block/weaken signal.
  3. After successful positioning, red status bar turns green. GPS signal shows current strength.

AGPS (Assisted GPS) satellite orbit information helps the watch accelerate GPS positioning.

Automatic Workout Identification

Identifies workout types: walking, indoor walking, outdoor running, treadmill, outdoor cycling, pool swimming, and rowing machine. Watch automatically determines workout type and records a single workout after characteristics are compiled and workout continues for a period. Set in Settings > Workout > Workout Detection.

  • Type: Automatic identification enabled for selected workout type.
  • Reminder: Pop-up dialog displayed when workout identified or ends. If disabled, data recorded silently with dynamic icon on watch face.
  • Sensitivity: Higher sensitivity means shorter identification time. Lower sensitivity prolongs identification time.
Note: Continuous workout status monitoring greatly reduces battery life. Workout Detection is not enabled if no workout is selected. Some data may not synchronize if watch detects ongoing workout.

Workout History

Workout record automatically saves to Workout History. If workout time is too short, watch asks to save. Due to limited storage, synchronize data to app soon after completing workout to prevent overwriting.

Workout History on the Watch

Includes workout data, trace (for GPS workouts), lap/set data, goal completion, and other info. Screen jumps to history details page after workout ends, or view recent history in Workout History app. Saves up to 10 recent records.

Personal Best

Best records (longest distance, longest workout time) from certain workout types are saved.

Workout History on the App

Shows wider range of workout data, dynamic route, and sharing features. Path: Zepp app > Activities (top right corner of home page).

Physical Indicators for Workouts

Watch provides various physical indicators for workouts as evaluation scores. View in workout records or Workout Status app: current training load, total recovery time, VO2max, training effect. Detailed explanation in Workout Status app.

TE (Training Effect)

Measures workout effect on improving aerobic capacity. Score ranges 0.0-5.0. Higher score indicates greater intensity and body load, but better TE. Consider if body load is too high when TE reaches 5.0.

Aerobic TE ScoreEffect on Improving Aerobic Capacity
0.0-0.9This workout has no effect on improving aerobic capacity.
1.0-1.9This workout helps improve endurance and is ideal for post-workout recovery training.
2.0-2.9This workout helps maintain aerobic capacity.
3.0-3.9This workout significantly helps improve aerobic capacity.
4.0-4.9This workout remarkably improves heart-lung ability and aerobic capacity.
5.0Post-workout recovery is required for non-athlete users.

TE score evaluated based on profile, heart rate, and speed. Low TE score doesn't indicate a problem, but that workout was too easy. View TE score and suggestions after workout, or review in records.

Workout Status

Includes current training load, full recovery time, and VO2max. Determined by profile and data like heart rate. Accuracy improves as watch understands and analyzes body/workout data.

VO2max

Indicates oxygen consumed during max-intensity workouts, important for aerobic capacity. Prerequisite for high-level aerobic capacity in endurance athletes. Personal indicator with different standards for gender/age. Watch evaluates athletic capacity based on profile, heart rate, speed. VO2max changes with athletic capacity, varies by individual body conditions.

How is it obtained?
  1. Correctly enter profile in app.
  2. Run outdoors for at least 10 minutes wearing watch, ensuring heart rate reaches 75% of max heart rate.
  3. After run, view current VO2max in watch's workout record app or 'See more statuses' screen.
  4. VO2 Max values map to seven athletic ability levels: Novice, Elementary, Ordinary, Medium, Good, Excellent, Superior.
How can I view it?

View current VO2max in watch's workout status app. View VO2max history and variation trends in app.

Training Load

Calculated based on excess post-exercise oxygen consumption (EPOC). Higher score indicates longer workout time and greater intensity. Total training load calculated over past 7 days, representing burden from recent workouts. Three training load ranges: low, moderate, high.

  • Low: Won't improve athletic ability much.
  • High/Too High: May cause fatigue, not conducive to improvement, injury risk.
  • Moderate: Recommended for continuous athletic ability improvement within tolerance range.

Moderate range depends on recent and long-term workout data, becoming more accurate with use.

How to obtain training load:

After workout mode enabled, obtain training load of current workout upon reaching minimum training load level. Past 7 days' training load viewable in watch's workout status app.

How to view the training load:

View in watch's workout status app. View historical training load and change trends in app.

Total Recovery Time

Recommended time for complete body recovery. After each workout, recovery suggestions based on heart rate help arrange workouts to avoid injury.

Full Recovery PeriodWorkout Suggestions
0-18 hoursYou have fully or nearly fully recovered, and you can do slightly higher-intensity training.
19-35 hoursYou can train as usual and you can prepare to strengthen your regimen again.
36-53 hoursAppropriately reducing the intensity of your training will allow you to gain workout benefits from your last training, and you should do recovery workouts to relieve physical fatigue.
54-96 hoursProper rest will allow you to get the benefits of the workout from your last high-intensity training.
