The Sepnine Dog Bicycle Trailer package includes:

  • Various nuts, bolts, and spacers (x2 sets)
  • Hex key (x2)

What You Need

To assemble the trailer, you will need:

  • Wrench
  • Screwdriver
  • Bicycle pump

Assembly Instructions

Step 1: Prepare Tow Bar Bracket

Action: Remove the nut, bolt, and locking pin from the tow bar mounting bracket located on the bottom of the trailer. Ensure the black plastic spacer remains in place.

Step 2: Attach Tow Bar

Action: Place the tow bar into the tow bar mounting bracket. Align the holes at the end of the tow bar with the center holes on the mounting bracket. Secure the tow bar using the nut, bolt, and locking pin. The bolt should pass through the center holes.

Step 3: Install Wheel Mounting Brackets

Action: Insert the wheel mounting brackets into the ends of the square brace located at the rear of the trailer. Ensure the wheel mounting brackets are oriented to point towards the top of the trailer.

Step 4: Secure Wheel Mounting Brackets

Action: Fasten the wheel mounting brackets to the trailer using the provided nuts, bolts, and hex key. Use a wrench to hold the nuts steady while tightening the bolts.

Step 5: Prepare Trailer Body

Action: Turn the trailer over onto its side or top. Raise the trailer's side panels to an upright position.

Step 6: Install Roof Support Rod

Action: Remove the two star knobs from the ends of the roof support rod. Position the rod inside the trailer, between the top bars of the two side panels. Insert each star knob through the holes in the fabric cover and the side panel's top bar, threading them into the ends of the roof support rod. Tighten the star knobs securely.

Step 7: Attach Wheels

Action: Remove the disposable black plastic cap from each wheel axle. While pressing the wheel lock button, insert each wheel axle into the corresponding round hole in the wheel mounting bracket. Release the wheel lock button to secure each wheel. Pull gently on each wheel to confirm it is locked in place.

Step 8: Attach Reflectors

Action: Attach the two reflectors to the back of the trailer. Insert screws and washers through the holes in the fabric shell and into the corresponding holes on the back of the reflectors. Tighten using a screwdriver.

Step 9: Add Cushion and Inflate Tires

Action: Place the cushion on the floor of the trailer. Attach the safety tether to one of the D-rings inside the trailer. Use a bicycle pump to inflate the tires to the pressure level indicated on each tire.

Step 10: Detach Hitch from Tow Bar

Action: Release the locking pin and remove the black hitch assembly from the tow bar.

Step 11: Attach Hitch to Bicycle

Action: Attach the hitch to the left side of your bicycle's rear wheel hub. The hitch should be oriented to point backward and slightly downward.

For standard wheels: Remove the axle nut, position the hitch onto the axle, and reattach the axle nut.

For quick-release wheels: Remove the quick-release skewer from the rear wheel hub, insert it through the hitch, and then reassemble it through the rear wheel hub.

Step 12: Connect Trailer to Bicycle

Action: With the trailer positioned behind the bicycle, slide the end of the tow bar over the end of the hitch. Secure the connection with the locking pin.

Step 13: Secure with Safety Strap

Action: Loop the black safety strap around the bicycle frame. Clip the strap to the D-ring located on the tow bar.

Step 14: Load Your Pet

Action: Gently help your dog into the trailer through the rear or top door. Attach the safety tether to your dog's harness and adjust it so it is short enough to keep your dog secure and safe inside the trailer. Always use the safety tether and zip the rear door closed before starting a ride. Introduce the experience gradually, offering praise and treats to help your dog adjust to riding together.

Step 15: Storage

Action: When it is time to store the trailer, remove the locking pin and fold the tow bar underneath the trailer. Place the roof support rod and wheels inside the trailer, and then fold down the side panels.
