FTI-CDP1 - Vehicle Preparation and Coverage Notes
Vehicle Compatibility
Make | Model | Year | Install | CAN | Lights | IGN | Hood I/O Changes |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
DL-CH7 RAM | 1500 Classic PTS | 2019-23 | Type 2 | CJB | Park / Auto Type B | BCM | Green White/Blue |
Firmware and Installation Notes
Firmware: Covered vehicles use BLADE-AL (DL)-CH7. Confirm application, flash the module, and update the firmware controller before installation.
Installation: Type 2 vehicles utilize the included CAN extension cable to obtain CAN data from the green CAN junction block (left side of dash) or from the BCM (pin #25, CANH, brown; pin #26, CANL, yellow).
Lights: Type B parking lights use the 10-pin connector; secure the unused 6-pin connector for safety.
Ignition: Common ignition arrangements are listed in the SHEET diagram; ignition is also available at the BCM (connector C5/E, pin #27, pink/white).
Installation and Configuration Notes
A: Type 1 CAN: A connection that generates CAN data from the OBD-II connector is not used in this type of installation. Secure CAN connector A for safety.
B: Type 2 CAN: The Type 2 CAN extension cable B is used in this type of installation to connect to the vehicle CJB (CAN Junction Block). Do not make any other CAN connections.
C: Hood Pin: Hood pin connection (if necessary).
D: Ignition Source Jumper: NO CONNECTION is required for this type of installation. Ensure the ignition is unused by jumpers to guarantee safety.
E: Ignition Connection: Ignition connection varies by vehicle. The component locator illustrates the common connection to BCM connector C5 (pin #27, pink/white).

Wiring Diagram Details
The diagram illustrates the connections for the FTI-CDP1 system on a 2019-23 RAM 1500 Classic PTS (DL-CH7 - Type 4).
- OBD-II Connector (1): Standard vehicle diagnostic port.
- PTS Button (2): Push-to-Start button location.
- Headlight Switch (3): Controls vehicle headlights.
- BCM (4): Body Control Module. Specific pins are referenced for ignition and CAN data (C5, pins 25, 26, 27, 39).
- Green Junction Block (5): Vehicle's green junction block, used for CAN data connection.
Wire Connections:
- A: Connects to the vehicle's CAN data lines.
- B: CAN extension cable used for CJB connection.
- C: Hood pin connection (aftermarket part if required).
- D: RAP SHUTDOWN wire.
- E: Ignition connection, typically to BCM C5 (pin #27, pink/white).
Ignition Wiring Example: The diagram shows connections to BCM connector C5, referencing pins 39, 27, 26, and 25. Specific wires like brown (CANH), yellow (CANL), and pink/white (Ignition) are indicated.
LED Programming Error Codes
The module's LED flashes RED during programming, indicating potential issues. The following codes provide troubleshooting guidance:
LED Flashes | Error Description |
---|---|
1x | CAN Error, verify CAN wiring and voltages. |
2x | Key code not learned, confirm unlock sent, verify CAN. |
3x | No PTS signal, verify button connection. |
4x | No immobilizer data, verify wiring. |
4x | No immobilizer, confirm only one key in the vehicle. |
5x | No ignition, verify wiring. |
6x | VIN error, verify CAN wiring. |
7x | PTS signal error, verify button connection. |
8x | No PTS signal, verify button connection. |
Cartridge Installation
- Slide cartridge into the unit. Notice the button under the LED.
- The unit is now ready for the Module Programming Procedure.
Module Programming Procedure (with KLON)
This procedure programs the remote starter module using a keyfob and the vehicle's push-to-start system.
Part 1 of 2
- Close the driver door.
- Re-open the driver door to wake up the data bus.
- Press UNLOCK on keyfob 1.
- Wait; the LED will flash BLUE once [1x].
- Remove the valet key from keyfob 1.
- Remove batteries from keyfob 1.
- Push the start button twice [2x] with keyfob 1 to the ON position (no battery in keyfob).
- Wait; the LED will turn solid RED.
- Push the start button twice [2x] with keyfob 1 to the ON position (no battery).
- Wait; if the LED flashes BLUE rapidly, proceed to step 11. If the LED turns solid RED, repeat steps 8 to 10.
- Push the start button once [1x] to the OFF position.
- Disconnect all connectors from the remote starter except the power connector.
- Disconnect the power connector.
