Section 4: Operation
4.1 Power Up:
Connect the power cord to a grounded, correctly wired outlet. The monitor and target lights are controlled by the switch on the back of the machine.
4.2 Game Play:
The machine is ready after power-up. Players select games and options via on-screen menus.
A. 01 Games:
Count-down games for 1-8 players, starting with 301, 501, or 701 points. The winner reaches zero first or has the lowest score at the round limit.
- Opening Round Options: Open In (any segment to start), Double In (double or bullseye to start), Master In (any double, triple, or bullseye to start).
- Final Round Options: Open Out (any segment to finish), Double Out (double to finish), Master Out (any double, triple, or bullseye to finish).
- Quickie Games: 501 Open In/Open Out and 501 Open In/Master Out have a 10-round limit.
B. Cricket Games:
Based on traditional steel tip darts, using numbers 15-20 and the bullseye. Players 'mark' numbers three times to 'close' them. Points are scored on closed numbers. The first player to close all numbers and have the highest score wins.
- Cricket/200: Standard Cricket rules.
- Hammer Cricket: Count-up game with 'Wild' rounds. Darts score 1x, 2x, or 3x the segment value. Missing all three darts incurs a score penalty.
- Team Hammer: Similar to Hammer Cricket but played in teams of two.
- Cut-Throat Cricket: Objective is to close numbers with the lowest score. Closing a number scores points for opponents who haven't closed it.
- Team Cricket: Played with four players in two teams. Team partners score together.
- Wild Card Cricket: Uses a random selection of numbers that change each turn if not marked.
- Cricket Quickie: Cricket with a 10-round limit and no spread limit.
C. Other Games:
- Count Up: Players aim to score the most points over 8 rounds.
- Gotcha! Open/Open: First to 301 points. Matching opponent scores triggers a 'bomb' resetting their score.
- Gotcha! Open/Master: Similar to Open/Open but requires a double, triple, or bullseye to reach 301.
- Bermuda Triangle: Players shoot at a new number each round. Hitting the target number scores points. Missing all three darts halves the score.
- Tic Tac Darts: A variation of Tic Tac Toe played on the dartboard grid.
4.3 Service Mode:
Allows configuration of machine options. Accessed via the Service Button on the IOB Card.
- Machine Setup Menu: Language, Time, Happy Hour, Hours of Operation, Coin Slot, Machine Name, Free Play, Coinbox Button, More Machine Setup, Reset options (All, Factory Defaults, Popularity Counters, League Stats, Credits, Top Ten Lists).
- League Attract Menu: Manage league/graphic files, view attract files, delete files.
- HotButton Menu: Create/erase HotButtons for players/operators.
- Game Setup Menu: Configure game prices, bull settings, round limits, spread limits, game features (Global, League, Remote Play), stat tracking (Stat Ticker, X01 Stat), auto player change, player change delay, cheater alarm, team fees, various game rules (freeze, backup dart, handicap), 'Up Next' stats, league settings, and enable Top Ten lists.
- Communications: Setup for Ethernet, WiFi, or Dialup Modem for LeagueLeader connection. Includes IP settings, security, and modem configurations.

Section 6: Internet Communications
The Galaxy 3 can connect to the internet via Ethernet, WiFi, or Dialup Modem for LeagueLeader communication.
6.1 LeagueLeader Setup:
To send leagues, configure connection method (Ethernet, WiFi, Modem), enter LeagueLeader account settings (FTP Username/Password), and perform an update test.
6.2 Setting up a Wired Network (Ethernet):
Connect the Galaxy 3 to a router via Ethernet cable. Ensure the machine's network settings are enabled for Ethernet and Internet, preferably using Auto (DHCP) for IP settings.
6.3 Setting up a Wireless Network:
Requires a WiFi card and router. Connect the WiFi card to the motherboard, then configure the machine's WiFi setup, selecting the access point, entering the security key, and setting IP to Auto (DHCP).
6.4 Setting up a Dialup Modem:
Use a normal analog phone line. Connect the modem, configure modem settings, enter ISP phone number, username, and password, then perform an update test.
Section 7: Network Communications
Networks can be set up between multiple boards to communicate with LeagueLeader.
7.1 Connecting to a Galaxy II:
Connect Galaxy 3 to Galaxy II/II.5 using a crossover phone line. The Galaxy 3 acts as the master. Configure dip switches and ensure alternating COMM IN/OUT connections.
7.2 Connecting Multiple Galaxy 3's Together:
Each machine can be its own master, requiring multiple master entries in LeagueLeader for faster communication and data collection.
Section 8: Maintenance
8.1 Cleaning the Darthead:
- Removing Broken Tips: Push tips through the segment hole or pull them out with pliers.
- Disassembling the Darthead: Remove catch screen, unplug matrix ribbon cables, and carefully remove the darthead. Clean components with a damp cloth. Reassemble carefully, ensuring correct order. Regular maintenance is recommended.
