Pioneer In-Dash AV Receiver System Firmware Update Instructions
This firmware update is applicable to the following Pioneer In-Dash AV Receiver models sold in Australia and New Zealand:
- DMH-A245BT
- DMH-A345BT
- AVH-A245BT
IMPORTANT
Before proceeding, please download and print these instructions. Ensure all steps are followed correctly and in the specified order.

Required Items for Update:
- A Pioneer In-Dash AV receiver from the list above.
- A USB storage device with the following specifications:
- 2 GB or larger capacity.
- Formatted to FAT32.
- Blank (no existing files).
CAUTION
- Do not turn off the unit or remove the USB storage device during the firmware update process.
- The update can only be performed when the vehicle is stopped and the parking brake is engaged.
Checking the Firmware Version
Verify if your unit requires a firmware update by checking the current version number.
Procedure:
- Touch the settings icon ⚙️.
- Scroll down the list and touch [System Information].
- Note the current MPU software version and the information under "Others".
Checking the Model Name
Confirm your product's model name to download the correct firmware update files.
Procedure:
- Touch [Phone].
- Check the Model Name displayed.
Downloading Firmware Update Files
- Visit the Pioneer Australia firmware/software page: https://www.pioneer.com.au/firmwaresoftware/ and locate your product.
- Download the appropriate firmware update file.
- Extract the downloaded zip file. The extracted file should be named ISP_UPDT.BIN.

Note: Do not proceed with the update if the "Others" information in System Information does not match your unit.
Updating the Firmware on Your Unit
IMPORTANT
- Ensure your Pioneer product is one of the listed models (DMH-A245BT, DMH-A345BT, AVH-A245BT).
- The update file (ISP_UPDT.BIN) must be in the root folder of the USB storage device, with no other files present.
- During the update, do not turn off the power, touch the screen, or remove the USB storage device to prevent damage.
- All settings will be restored to their default values after the update.
- Disconnect any connected external mobile devices before starting the update.
Procedure:
- Connect a blank, FAT32 formatted USB storage device to your computer. Copy the correct update file (ISP_UPDT.BIN) to the root folder of the USB device.
- Connect the USB storage device to the unit's USB port.
- Touch [MPEG]. The update screen will appear if the vehicle is stopped and the parking brake is engaged. If not, re-check that the file is in the root folder.
- The update progress will be displayed. ▶️ Do not disconnect the USB or turn off the power.
- Upon completion, the display will show "Update succeeded". The product will restart automatically.
- After the unit restarts, disconnect the USB storage device.
- Touch the settings icon ⚙️.
- Scroll down and touch [Restore Settings].
- Touch [OK] to confirm restoring settings to default.
- The product will reboot and display the Radio screen. The firmware update is now complete.
Confirming the Firmware Update
Follow the steps for checking the firmware version to confirm the update was successful.
Procedure:
- Touch the settings icon ⚙️.
- Scroll down and touch [System Information].
- Verify that the MPU software version is now "V1.36" and the "Others" information remains unchanged.
