Introduction
This document provides information on the PRYMEBLU BTH-600 Wireless BT Speaker Microphone, its features, operation, and specifications.
Controls and Connections
Front Firing Speaker
Receives audio for calls. Volume controlled by microphone buttons or radio/phone.
PTT Button
Activates push-to-talk for the 2-way radio.
Clothing Clip
Secures the microphone to clothing. Rotatable for optimal positioning.
Microphone
Picks up user's voice for outgoing calls.
Volume Up and Down Buttons
Adjusts receive audio volume in five preset steps.
Status LEDs
Red and blue LEDs indicate device status. ?
Phone Button
Answers or hangs up phone calls when connected to a cellphone. ?
Earphone Jack
3.5mm jack for optional wired listen-only earphones. ?
Charge Jack
Mini-USB port for recharging the battery. ?
Battery Cover
Rear cover secured by a thumbscrew, allows access to the removable battery. ?
Multifunction Button
Turns the device on/off (hold for 1 second) and initiates pairing mode.
Removable Battery
The device is powered by a removable Lithium battery pack.
Charging the Speaker Microphone
The BTH-600 uses a rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery pack that requires charging before use and regularly thereafter. A full charge provides up to 40 hours of operation, though this can vary.
To Charge:
- Ensure the device is off.
- Connect the charge cable to a powered USB outlet and then to the charge jack.
- A constant red LED indicates charging.
- Typical charge time is approximately 5 hours.
- The LED turns off when charging is complete.
- Disconnect the charger once fully charged.
Charging Cautions:
- Do not use damaged chargers or cables. Contact PRYME for replacements.
- Do not tamper with or modify the device or charger.
- Always turn the device off when charging.
Installing or Replacing the Battery Pack
The BTH-600 is powered by a rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery pack, designed for over 1,500 charge/discharge cycles.
To Access Battery Compartment:
- Loosen the thumbscrew counter-clockwise to open the cover. Remove the battery door.
- Insert the rechargeable battery pack, aligning terminals with contacts.
- Reinstall the cover and tighten the thumbscrew clockwise. Do not overtighten.
Pairing Procedures
Pairing with a PRYMEBLU Radio Adapter or 2-Way Radio
Ensure the Speaker Microphone is powered off before starting.
- Hold the Multifunction Button for approximately 3 seconds until the LED flashes RED-BLUE-RED-BLUE repeatedly (pairing mode).
- For PRYMEBLU adapters: Put the adapter into pairing mode per its manual.
- For Icom or Kenwood radios: Follow manufacturer instructions to scan for devices and select the PRYMEBLU microphone.
- Devices will sync. The LED will show one blue flash every few seconds upon successful pairing.
- If the adapter does not detect the microphone within 60 seconds, it will exit pairing mode.
- Once paired, the 2-way radio can be operated via the Speaker Mic.
Reconnecting a Previously Paired Device
Paired devices will attempt to re-establish their link when powered on and within range. This can take 10-60 seconds.
Pairing with a Cellphone
Ensure the Speaker Microphone and other BT devices are powered off before starting.
- Hold the Multifunction Button for approximately 3 seconds until the LED flashes RED-BLUE-RED-BLUE repeatedly (pairing mode).
- Activate Bluetooth on your phone and scan for new devices.
- Select the PRYMEBLU Speaker Microphone from the list. Enter "0000" if prompted for a passcode.
- Devices will sync. The LED will revert to a single blue flash every few seconds.
- Once paired, you can make and receive calls using the Speaker Microphone.
Using the PRYMEBLU Speaker Microphone
After pairing with an adapter or cellphone:
- Received signals play through the front speaker or optional earphone. Volume is adjustable.
- The microphone picks up your voice for transmitting or phone calls.
- Push-to-Talk (PTT) can be activated via the PTT button on the mic, the adapter's talk button, a wired PTT, or an optional PRYMEBLU Wireless BT PTT (BT-PTT2).
- To answer/hang up calls, press the Phone Button or use the phone interface.
- Press and hold the Phone Button for 3 seconds to activate voice dialing (when not connected to a 2-way radio).
Note: When on a phone call, 2-way radio signals are not heard. Pressing the PTT button during a phone call will transmit on the radio but will not send audio from the microphone.

Optional Earphones
For enhanced privacy, listen-only earphones with a 3.5mm audio plug can be used. The front speaker is disabled when an earphone is connected.
PRYME offers various listen-only earphones, such as the EH-1389SC model (sold separately).
