Installation guide:

  1. Disconnect the mounting plate from the main unit by sliding the unit upwards while holding the plate.
  2. Using the fixing screws and plugs provided, fix the plate to the wall in the desired location. Alternatively, use the self-adhesive strip provided if fixing to a PVC doorframe.
  3. NOTE: It is advisable to test the video quality of the doorbell before installation to ensure it's receiving a strong enough signal from your wireless network.
  4. The rechargeable batteries are supplied in the unit, ensure these are inserted in the correct direction and that any shipping tags have been removed from the contacts.
  5. Press the reset button for around 5 seconds until the indicator LEDs blink slowly to show that the unit is ready to use.
  6. Replace the battery cover, slot the main unit back into the mounting plate and fix securely with the security screw and hex-key provided.

Device Setup:

  1. To pair the doorbell with your smart device, you need to install the App. Search for “XSH Cam” in your App store or scan the provided QR codes to download the App directly to your smart device. [QR Code for iOS App] [QR Code for Google App] [QR Code for Android App]
  2. Before starting, ensure your smart device is connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. NOTE: This device will not work on faster 4.8Ghz networks.
  3. Launch the XSH Cam App on your smart device and tap the “Add a device" button, followed by "Setup device".
  4. Power up the smart doorbell. You should hear a voice prompt indicating the device is ready to pair. If you do not hear this prompt, press and hold the red reset button on the back of the unit for approximately 5 seconds to reset the device. Once in pairing mode, the LED indicator on the front of the doorbell will flash blue.
  5. The App will automatically connect to the same Wi-Fi network as your smart device and prompt you to enter your wireless network name. Enter the correct password for your wireless network and press the “Next” button.
  6. Your smart device will now search for the doorbell. To ensure a successful connection, keep the devices within a 30cm distance and ensure the volume on your smart device is raised to an audible level to hear the pairing tone.
  7. Once paired, you will hear an audible connected message and see a confirmation screen. Here, you need to enter a name for your device (if necessary) and a password (of at least 8 characters). Select “Non-Chinese Mainland” at the bottom and press the “Finish” button.
  8. Setup is now complete. The doorbell will appear as a new device in your device list. To view a live feed, tap the small screen representing the doorbell in your device list.
  9. With the live feed running, you can access the camera's features and settings by clicking the settings button in the bottom right corner. This allows you to adjust various settings to suit your environment, including: poor light settings, PIR detection level, and whether to record video and images to the internal SD card (not supplied).
  10. Within the settings section, you can also find a share QR code option. Selecting this allows you to send the QR code to family and friends who wish to share the doorbell video feed.

Wi-Fi Doorbell Features:

Control buttons on the live video screen allow for recording, muting, zooming, and making live voice calls. Refer to the diagram for details:

When a visitor presses the doorbell, a chime sound will be heard on all connected smart devices, and a notification message will appear on the screens. To view your visitor, press the notification directly or open the App and press anywhere on the live video feed screen (3).

To converse with your visitor, press the Live speech button (5). You can also record video footage of the conversation and your visitors' movements by pressing the Video record button (6).

To view the video feed in full screen mode, rotate your smart device into landscape position. Zoom in and out using the pinch-to-zoom method common on touch screen devices.

The doorbell is equipped with a PIR sensor that detects movement around the unit and sends an audible and visible notification when triggered. Sensitivity can be adjusted in the settings screen with four options: Disabled (turns off PIR), Low (notification after 7 seconds of continuous movement), Medium (notification after 5 seconds of movement), and High (notification after 1-2 seconds of movement). When using an internal SD card, the PIR alert function will also trigger live video recording for approximately 30 seconds directly to the unit.

Note: When in a busy or crowded location, it is recommended to disable the PIR function to avoid continuous alerts.
