Before Using for the First Time
WARNING: Remove all packaging including any soleplate protection before operating your steam generator.
- Wipe over the soleplate with a soft cloth.
- Position the iron handset [3] on the base station [10], on your ironing board or on a heat-resistant and secure surface at the same height as your ironing board.
- Before connecting to the mains supply, ensure your supply voltage matches the one indicated on the steam generator.
- On first use, a slight odour and smoke may occur for a few minutes. This is normal and will disappear.
IMPORTANT: The water system needs priming on first use. Operate the steam boost function [Steam Trigger] double-click a few times until steam is produced.
Cleaning Your Steam Generator Before Use
- Fill the water tank [8] as described in "Filling Your Steam Generator".
- Empty the water tank [8] to rinse out any foreign particles, then refill it.
- Set the temperature control dial [5] to the MAX setting.
- Iron an old piece of cloth (cotton or towels ideal) for a few minutes. While ironing, press the steam trigger [4] 4 or 5 times. You may need to hold the trigger to prime the pump and pull water through the system.
- Impurities will be flushed from the iron by steam and absorbed by the cloth.
Filling Your Steam Generator
- Remove the water tank [8] by holding the handle and pulling it forward from the base station [10].
- Slide the water tank out.
- Fill the water tank [8] with cold tap water to the MAX mark.
- Slide the water tank [8] back into the base unit [10] until it latches securely with an audible click.
Instructions For Use
Filling During Use
You can refill the water tank [8] during use. Add water as required, but do not fill past the MAX mark. The steam generator will beep twice and the power indicator light [9] will flash when the water tank needs filling.
Steam Ironing
The iron prevents steam at low temperature settings to protect delicate fabrics. Steam is recommended for harder-to-iron fabrics like cotton and linen.
WARNING: Never use steam on delicate fabrics like nylons, acrylics, and synthetics.
- Fill the water tank [8] with water.
- Plug the steam generator into the mains supply and press the power switch [9] to turn it on.
- Rotate the temperature control dial [5] to set the pointer between the [Low Heat] setting and the [Max Heat] setting.
- The temperature indicator light [2] will pulse as the generator heats up. It turns solid when ready.
- With the soleplate in contact with the garment, press the steam trigger [4] for a couple of seconds. Steam will continue to emit for a short time after release. Press again if more steam is needed.
- To operate the steam boost function, double-click the steam trigger [4] quickly for a concentrated steam boost.
Always release the steam trigger and allow residual steam to dissipate before placing the iron back on its stand.
Ironing Without Steam
If dry-ironing, no water is needed in the tank. If water is present, it does not need to be emptied.
- Rotate the temperature control dial [5] to the desired heat setting.
- Wait for the temperature indicator light [2] to turn solid.
- Iron your laundry without pressing the steam trigger [4].
Vertical Steam Ironing
Useful for ironing items like curtains or garments while hanging.
- Select a temperature setting higher than [Medium Heat].
- Wait for the temperature indicator light [2] to turn solid.
- Hold the iron in a vertical position and press the steam trigger [4] as required.
Warning: Hot steam is emitted from the soleplate. Do not iron/steam a garment while wearing it. Do not direct steam towards yourself or others.
Auto-Off Function
The iron has an auto-off safety function that activates after 5 minutes of inactivity. The unit enters sleep mode, and all lights turn off. To restart, pull the steam trigger [4]. The unit will restart and may need a short time to reheat.
Important Note on Temperature Adjustment
Your steam generator requires time to heat up and cool down. When changing temperature settings, allow the unit to adjust. This is especially important when moving from a high to a lower setting, as cooling takes longer than heating. It is recommended to begin ironing at lower temperatures.
For example, to change from a [High Heat] setting to a [Medium Heat] setting:
- Turn the temperature control dial [5] to the [Medium Heat] setting. The temperature indicator light [2] may pulse as it adjusts.
- Wait until the temperature indicator light [2] turns solid again, indicating the correct temperature has been reached.
Care and Cleaning
Warning: Do not use harsh abrasives, chemical cleaners, or solvents on the exterior of your iron.
Allow the iron to cool completely. Wipe the soleplate with a soft damp cloth. If polyester has burnt onto the soleplate, iron a damp cotton cloth while the iron is still hot. Wipe the rest of the iron with a soft damp cloth and then wipe dry. Do not immerse the appliance, power cord, or plug in water or any other liquid.
Self-Cleaning
Activate the self-clean function only when needed. Never activate it while ironing.
The self-clean function removes scale and impurities. The steam generator has an intelligent reminder that activates after approximately 25 hours of continuous steam ironing. In hard water areas, you can perform cleaning sooner.
The cleaning indicator light [1] will illuminate to remind users to clean the machine.
- To activate self-clean, adjust the temperature control dial [5] to the Max setting. Press and hold the self-clean button [1] for 3 seconds. The clean indicator light [1] will flash.
- Place the iron handset [3] on the cleaning tray [13].
- Pull the steam trigger [4] once, then remove your hands from the handset. This initiates the cleaning function.
- Hot water and steam will be ejected from the soleplate holes, along with impurities. No need to hold the product during this process.
- The cleaning cycle takes approximately 1 minute. When the clean indicator light [1] stops flashing, cleaning is complete. Switch off the unit and store when cooled.
- To cancel self-clean, press and hold the self-clean button [1] for 3 seconds. The clean indicator light [1] will stop flashing.
WARNING: Do not attempt to pick up the handset while the clean indicator light [1] is flashing, as hot water and steam may be ejected. Only remove from the cleaning tray [13] once the clean indicator light [1] has stopped flashing and the power is switched off. Always use the provided cleaning tray [13] and do not leave unattended during the clean cycle.
Troubleshooting
Issue | Root Cause | Possible Solution |
---|---|---|
The iron does not produce steam. | Water tank level is too low. Your steam generator will beep twice, and the power indicator light [9] will flash. | Fill water tank [8]. |
Water tank [8] is not fully inserted to the base station [10]. Check if power light [9] is flashing. | Remove and re-insert the water tank [8] until an audible click is heard. | |
If it is on first use, the unit may have not been primed. | Operate the steam boost a few times by double-clicking the steam trigger [4] in quick succession. | |
The unit is still heating up. Steam will only operate when the temperature indicator light [2] is solid. Check if light [2] is flashing. | Wait until the temperature indicator light [2] stops flashing and turns solid. | |
Brown particles are emitted from the soleplate. | The handset needs to be de-scaled. | Operate the self-clean process. Follow instructions provided in "Self-cleaning" section. |
No display lights are showing. | Steam generator has not used steam function for 5 minutes and entered auto-off mode. | Pull the steam trigger [4]. Unit should come out of auto-off mode. You may need to wait a short time for the unit to heat up before it can produce steam. When the temperature indicator light [2] turns solid, the unit is ready for use. |
