Quick Start Guide
This guide provides instructions for setting up, connecting, and configuring your FX3100.
Front View
The front of the FX3100 features a Multicolor LED indicator that displays the device's status.
Multicolor LED Indicator Guide:

Back View
The back of the FX3100 includes essential ports and slots for connectivity and management:
- Antenna port*: For an optional external 3.4-5GHz antenna. Activation requires enabling in the Admin web UI's Settings > Preferences.
- SIM slot: Accepts a Nano SIM card.
- USB port
- Power port
- 1Gbps LAN or WAN port 1
- 1Gbps LAN or WAN port 2
- Reset: A recessed button for initiating a factory reset.
Setting Up Your FX3100
Step One: Install the SIM Card
Insert a Nano SIM card into the SIM slot on the back of the device. Ensure the SIM card's notch is inserted first, with the contact points facing down. Handle the SIM card carefully, avoiding contact with the gold-colored points.
This device supports only Nano SIM cards.
Step Two: Power On the FX3100
Plug the power cord into the router's power port and connect the power adapter to an AC wall outlet.
WARNING: Use only the power adapter provided with your device to prevent damage and warranty voidance.
Step Three: Identify a Location for Your FX3100
To find the optimal location for signal strength, download the Inseego Mobile™ app from the AppStore or Google Play. Alternatively, visit inseego.com/products/cloud-management/inseego-mobile-app/#available-now. Follow the app's instructions, which may include performing a location survey.
Connecting to a Wireless Device
To connect a Wi-Fi-capable device (such as a PC, laptop, tablet, or phone) to your FX3100 for the first time:
- Ensure the FX3100 is powered on and the indicator LED is blue or green.
- On the device you wish to connect, open its Wi-Fi settings. Find the network name labeled "Primary Wi-Fi" printed on the bottom of your FX3100.
- Click "Connect" or select the network name.
- When prompted, enter the "Primary Wi-Fi Password" printed on the bottom of the router.
You can change the default network name and password later for easier recall by referring to the "Monitoring and managing your FX3100" section. Your Wi-Fi-capable device is now connected to the internet.
Monitoring and Managing Your FX3100
You can monitor and manage your FX3100 using the following methods:
- Inseego Mobile app: Use the same mobile app for basic device monitoring and management.
- FX3100 Admin web UI: Access the web interface at http://192.168.1.1 or http://fx3100.com for a full suite of device management features.
NOTE: Wi-Fi and Admin web UI passwords are printed on the label of your device. It is strongly recommended to change these passwords before using your FX3100.
Restoring Factory Settings
Performing a factory reset will revert all settings to their default values.
NOTE: Any changes made to settings will be lost during a factory reset.
To restore factory settings:
- Verify that your FX3100 is powered on.
- Locate the reset opening on the back of the router.
- Press the recessed button for approximately five seconds until the device resets. The LED will blink white, then turn red. It is ready when the LED turns green or blue.
NOTE: The first factory reset may take over two minutes for the FX3100 to restart.
Inseego Mobile App Requirements
Requires a smartphone or device running iOS 13 or above, or Android 9.0 or above.
System Requirements
Any device with Wi-Fi capability and an internet browser. The FX3100 is compatible with all major operating systems and the latest browser versions.
