Frequently Asked Questions
The Veepeak VP11 is a powerful OBD2 scanner designed for Android devices, offering comprehensive vehicle diagnostics. This guide addresses common questions regarding its features, compatibility, and usage.
App Compatibility: The VP11 requires a third-party OBD2 app, available from the Google Play Store. Popular choices include Car Scanner ELM OBD2, Inforcar, OBD Fusion, and OBD Auto Doctor. The functionality depends on the chosen app.
Device Compatibility: The VP11 works with Android and Windows devices. It is incompatible with iOS devices; for iPhone or iPad, the Bluetooth 4.0 version (OBDCheck BLE) is recommended.
Connection Method: The VP11 utilizes classic Bluetooth. Ensure your app is set to connect via Bluetooth and select 'OBDII' as the device. It does not support Bluetooth LE.
Diagnostic Levels: Standard OBD-II diagnostics cover emissions-related data and trouble codes. Advanced diagnostics, supported by specific apps, can access manufacturer-specific data like transmission temperature, ABS, and airbag systems.
EVs and Motorbikes: While the VP11 may work with some hybrid or electric vehicles, compatibility can vary. For motorbikes, it functions if they use OBD-II protocols and a suitable app is available. MotoScan App is supported for BMW motorbikes with limitations.
