About your phone

This section provides an overview of the physical components of your Kyocera DuraForce Ultra 5G smartphone.

• Volume keys: Control audio volume.
• Earpiece: For listening during calls.
• Front camera: For selfies and video calls.
• Power key: Turns the phone on/off, locks/unlocks the screen.
• SOS key*: Programmable key, often for emergency calls.
• Headset jack: For connecting wired headphones.
• ToF sensor: Time-of-Flight sensor, often used for depth sensing.
• Back camera: Main camera for photos and videos.
• Flash: Provides light for the camera or acts as a flashlight.
• Wide view camera: Secondary camera for wider shots.
• Tool Anchors: Points for attaching lanyards or tools.
• PTT key*: Push-to-Talk key, for walkie-talkie functionality.
• Camera key*: Programmable key, often to launch the camera app.
• Loudspeaker: For speakerphone calls and media playback.
• Microphone: For voice input during calls and recordings.
• SIM/microSD card slot: Holds the SIM card and an optional microSD card.
• USB/Charger port: For charging and data transfer (USB Type-C).
• Charging contacts: Alternative charging method.

*NOTE: These keys also function as programmable keys that can be assigned to frequently used applications or functions for quick access.

Setting up your phone

Your phone already has a SIM card installed. For optimal functionality of your new device, please use the pre-installed SIM card. To insert a microSD card or replace the SIM card, follow these steps:

Optional: Insert the microSD card

Step 1. Pull out the SIM/microSD card tray
With the phone facing up, insert your fingernail into the slit on the SIM/microSD card tray cover and pull out the tray.

Step 2. Place a microSD card
Put the tray onto a flat surface and place a microSD card into the tray. Ensure the gold contacts are facing down as shown.

NOTE: microSD cards are sold separately.

Step 3. Insert the SIM/microSD card tray
Insert the tray into the phone, being careful not to let the cards slide out. Then gently push the tray back into the slot until it fits into place.

Step 4. Check the SIM/microSD card tray cover
In order to maintain your phone's waterproof seal, confirm that the card tray cover is securely closed.

WARNING: Do not use the phone under water if the SIM/microSD card tray cover, USB/Charger port cover or headset jack cover is broken or open.

Step 5. Charge your phone
Before turning on your phone, charge it fully.

NOTE: Use only a USB Type-C charger/cable for this phone.

Open the USB/Charger port cover and insert one end of the USB cable into the phone. Insert the other end into the charger and plug it into an outlet.

When charging is complete, remove the cable from the port and securely close the cover.

WARNING: Use only approved chargers and cables with your phone. Improper handling of the charging port, as well as the use of an incompatible charger or cable, may cause damage to your device and void the warranty.

Using your phone

Turning your phone on

To turn your phone on, press and hold the Power key.

Turning your phone off

1. Press and hold the Power key until the phone options are displayed.
2. Tap Power off to turn the phone off.

Locking/unlocking the screen

To turn on your screen, press the Power key, then:

• ⬆️ Swipe up to open the Home screen.
• ⬅️ Swipe left to open the Camera app.
• ➡️ Swipe right to launch Google Assistant.

To turn off your screen and prevent accidental key presses, press the Power key.

Accessing apps

1. From the Home screen, tap an app icon that you want to open.

1. Swipe up from the bottom of the Home screen to open the Apps launcher screen.
2. Tap an app icon that you want to open.

Making a call

Using the dialpad:

1. From the Home screen, tap ? to open the phone app.
2. Tap DIALPAD on the bottom left of the screen.
3. Tap the number keys on the dialpad to enter the phone number.
4. Tap ? to call the number.
5. To end the call, tap ☎️.

From Contacts list:

1. From the Home screen, tap ?.
2. Tap CONTACTS to display your contacts list.
3. Tap the contact you want to call.
4. Tap ? to call the number.

This phone has been tested and rated for use with hearing aids for some of the wireless technologies that it uses.
