UNIT FEATURES

Assembly

CONNECTING TELESCOPIC POLE

The telescopic pole is made up of four sections:

SECTIONS 1, 2 & 3 are adjustable in length. By using the three extension locks, these sections may be extended or retracted in order to achieve the desired length.

  1. Look down inside Pole Base, and locate two guide ridges. Align two guide grooves on Telescopic Pole with guide ridges inside Pole Base.
  2. With guide grooves aligned with guide ridges, insert SECTION 4 of Telescopic Pole into Pole Base. Telescopic Pole should now be secured to the Pole Base.

NOTE: If you have trouble locating two guide ridges inside Pole Base, insert SECTION 4 of Telescopic Pole into Pole Base, then twist Pole to properly align the guide grooves and guide ridges.

CONNECTING HOSE

  1. Align arrow on Hose with unlock icon on unit.
  2. Press hose down and turn until arrow is aligned with lock icon to lock hose into place.

NOTE: Do not operate unit if Hose is not in locked position.

CONNECTING NOZZLE CRADLE AND CLOTHES HANGER

  1. Look down inside Pole Base, and locate two guide ridges. Align two guide grooves on Telescopic Pole with guide ridges inside Pole Base.
  2. Align Nozzle Cradle and Clothes Hanger guide ridges with guide grooves on SECTION 1 of Telescopic Pole. Be sure to orient Nozzle Cradle and Clothes Hanger so that the Nozzle Cradle faces toward front of unit. This will help to improve unit stability when heavy garments are hung from the Clothes Hanger.
  3. Slide Nozzle Cradle and Clothes Hanger onto SECTION 1 of Telescopic Pole. Press down firmly until it fits securely in place.

ADJUSTING TELESCOPIC POLE

1. Release extension lock directly below SECTION 1 by swinging hinge outward as shown. SECTION 1 can then be extended / retracted.

2. Once SECTION 1 is at desired length, close hinge to once again secure extension lock.

3. Repeat STEPS 1 & 2 for SECTIONS 2 & 3 of the Telescopic Pole, using the extension lock directly below each of those sections.

Filling Water Tank

  1. Remove Water Tank from main unit.
  2. Hold Water Tank upside-down.
  3. Remove Water Tank Cap by rotating it in a counter-clockwise direction.

NOTE: In order to minimize potential mineral build-up and prolong the life of your steamer, distilled or de-mineralized water is recommended.

CAUTION: Only water should be used in unit – other chemicals or cleaning agents may cause internal damage. Do not attempt to substitute any other water tank for the one designed for use with this unit.

  1. Replace Water Tank Cap by rotating it in a clockwise direction.

NOTE: Place Drain Knob in locked position before replacing Water Tank and operating unit.

  1. Place Water Tank back onto main unit. The sound of water flowing from Water Tank into Water Reservoir should be audible for a short period of time.

CAUTION: IF UNIT TIPS OVER WHILE TURNED ON AND PRODUCING STEAM, IT WILL CONTINUE TO PRODUCE STEAM. USE CAUTION WHEN PICKING UNIT UP.

NOTE: Water Tank can be removed and refilled at any time during operation – there is no need to turn unit off or allow any cooling period.

IMPORTANT: Do not attempt to operate unit with an empty Water Tank.

Fabric Steaming

CAUTION: When steaming any material for the first time, it is recommended that you test on a small inconspicuous area before proceeding. Do not use on synthetic fabrics such as 100% nylon or polyester, or other steam-sensitive materials.

NOTE: Be sure the Reservoir has already been filled before following these steps.

  1. Plug power cord into a standard electrical outlet. Turn Steam Knob to "ON" position.
  2. After approximately 1 minute, steam will begin emitting from Steam Nozzle.
  3. Direct Steam Nozzle towards fabric material you wish to steam. See below for additional tips and procedures.

CAUTION: Always be sure that Steam Nozzle is pointed in a safe direction (away from yourself, other people, pets and plants) when steaming.

STEAMING GARMENTS

GENERAL STEAMING TIPS

When you are finished using your unit, immediately unplug power cord from electrical outlet. Refer to Storage & Care guidelines on Page 8 of this manual for proper storage and maintenance procedures.

CAUTION: Please do not put chemicals or other objects on the base of the unit while the unit is being used.

Storage & Care

PROPER STORAGE

Preparing your unit for storage is quick and simple. When you have finished your steaming tasks, follow the steps listed below.

  1. Set Steam Knob to "OFF" position and unplug power cord from electrical outlet.
  2. Allow unit to cool (15 minutes for complete cooling).
  3. Remove Water Tank from unit. Open Drain Plug and drain any water remaining into a sink or tub. Securely replace Drain Plug and place empty Water Tank back onto main unit.
  4. For storage convenience, you may wish to collapse Telescopic Pole to its most compact height.
  5. Bundle power cord loosely and store in a cool, dry location.

MINERAL BUILD-UP

A common maintenance need for steam appliances is the removal of build-up caused by high mineral content in many municipal water supplies. This mineral build-up may cause the unit to spew water, limit the effectiveness, and reduce the life of your unit.

The best way to minimize mineral build-up is to use distilled or de-mineralized water when using your unit. In addition, it is recommended that the Reservoir be cleaned at least once a month in order to remove any deposits that form. This will help to extend the life of your unit and keep it functioning at its maximum potential.

TO REMOVE MINERAL BUILD-UP

  1. Set Steam Knob to "OFF" position and unplug power cord from electrical outlet.
  2. Allow unit to cool (15 minutes for complete cooling).
  3. Remove Water Tank from unit. Open Drain Plug and drain any water remaining into a sink or tub.
  4. Using a measuring cup, measure 4 oz. (118 ml.) of vinegar.
  5. Slowly pour vinegar into Water Tank, then replace Drain Plug and place Water Tank back onto main unit.
  6. Allow vinegar to soak in Water Tank / Reservoir for 30-40 minutes.
  7. Plug power cord into an electrical outlet and set Steam Knob to "ON". Allow unit to steam until no vinegar remains.
  8. Drain vinegar from Reservoir into a sink or tub. Refill Reservoir with fresh water, drain, and repeat until vinegar odor dissipates.
  9. Remove and refill Water Tank to maximum capacity (54 oz / 1597 ml) with fresh water and place it back onto main unit. Allow all fresh water to flow into Water Tank and be steamed out. Refill and repeat as necessary until vinegar odor has completely dissipated.
  10. When finished, set Steam Knob to "OFF" position and unplug power cord from electrical outlet. Follow normal storage procedure as outlined in PROPER STORAGE section.
