About 3D Sound Reproduction System "OPSODIS"

Only the front theater bar system delivers sound in all directions, allowing you to experience the immersive sound as if you were there.

OPSODIS Principle

Human ears can determine spatial information such as direction and distance just from sound it sensed. However, in normal stereo playback, this spatial information is hard to get as the sound from left and right speakers get mixed during its travel from speakers to ears.

OPSODIS, with its original algorithm, is able to deliver the sound to ears without getting mixed on the way. This allows the spatial information to be clearly replicated with just front speakers.

<OPSODIS> OPSODIS can transmit spatial information because it erases the sound waves you do not want to deliver and delivers only the sound waves you want to deliver.

[Diagram illustrating OPSODIS principle: Left and Right ear speaker sound, special technology that does not mix sounds, resulting in clear left and right ear signals]

<Stereo> Sound waves reach each ear from both left and right speakers, making it difficult to convey spatial information.

[Diagram illustrating stereo principle: sound waves mixing before reaching ears]

OPSODIS is a three-dimensional audio technology jointly developed by Kajima Corporation and the University of Southampton. Kajima Technical Research Institute has a wealth of experience in architectural acoustics, such as the design of concert halls and music studios. The Institute of Sound and Vibration Research at the University of Southampton is a world leader in acoustics and conducts cutting-edge research in many areas of the field.

The OPSODIS technology is capable of virtually realizing spatial sound and was originally used to study the acoustic performance of architectural spaces during the design stage. The sound bar home theater system uses the OPSODIS technology to accurately simulate many three-dimensional audio formats commonly used in TV, cinema, and gaming.
