Instruction Manual
Controller Layout
The SN30 Pro gamepad features the following buttons and indicators:
- Top Buttons: L, L2, R, R2
- Front Buttons: D-pad, Left Analog Stick (L3), A, B, X, Y, Start, Select, Home, Star Button, Right Analog Stick (R3)
- Indicators: Power LED, Home LED, Status LED
Diagrams in the original document illustrate the placement of these controls.
Power On/Off
- Power On: Press the Start button.
- Power Off: Hold the Start button for 3 seconds.
- Force Power Off: Hold the Start button for 8 seconds.
Status LED Indicator
The status LED indicates the number of players connected. For example, the first LED lights up for the first player, and the first two LEDs light up for the second player, supporting up to 8 players.
Connectivity
Nintendo Switch
Bluetooth Connection
- Press and hold Y + Start to turn on the controller. The Status LED starts to rotate.
- Hold the Pair button for 3 seconds to enter pairing mode. The LED briefly stops blinking then rotates again (required for the first connection only).
- On your Switch, navigate to Home > Controllers > Change Grip/Order.
- The Status LED becomes solid when the connection is successful.
Wired Connection
Ensure "Pro Controller Wired Communication" is enabled in your Switch settings.
- Press and hold Y + Start to turn on the controller.
- Connect the controller to a USB port on your Switch dock. Wait for the controller to be recognized.
Note: NFC scanning, IR camera, HD rumble, and notification LED features are not supported on Switch. The system cannot be woken up wirelessly.
Windows
System Requirements
Windows 10 (1903) or above.
Bluetooth Connection
- Press and hold X + Start to turn on the controller. The 1st and 2nd LEDs blink.
- Hold the Pair button for 3 seconds to enter pairing mode. The LED rotates from left to right (required for the first connection only).
- On your Windows device, go to Bluetooth settings, turn it on, and pair with "8BitDo SN30 Pro". The LED becomes solid upon successful connection.
Wired Connection
- Press and hold X + Start to turn on the controller. The 1st and 2nd LEDs blink.
- Connect the controller to a USB port on your Windows device. Wait for it to be recognized.
Android
System Requirements
Android 9.0 or above.
Bluetooth Connection
- Press and hold B + Start to turn on the controller. The 1st LED blinks.
- Hold the Pair button for 3 seconds to enter pairing mode. The LED rotates from left to right (required for the first connection only).
- On your Android device, go to Bluetooth settings, and pair with "8BitDo SN30 Pro". The LED becomes solid upon successful connection.
Wired Connection
Your Android device must support OTG functionality. Contact your manufacturer for details.
- Press and hold B + Start to turn on the controller. The 1st LED blinks.
- Connect the controller to a USB port on your Android device. Wait for it to be recognized.
Apple Devices (iOS, iPadOS, tvOS, macOS)
System Requirements
iOS 16.3, iPadOS 16.3, tvOS 16.3, macOS 13.2 or above.
Bluetooth Connection
- Press and hold B + Start to turn on the controller. The 1st LED blinks.
- Hold the Pair button for 3 seconds to enter pairing mode. The LED rotates from left to right (required for the first connection only).
- On your Apple device, go to Bluetooth settings, turn it on, and pair with "8BitDo SN30 Pro". The LED becomes solid upon successful connection.
Wired Connection
USB wired connection is only available for macOS or iPadOS devices with USB-C ports.
- Press and hold B + Start to turn on the controller. The 1st LED blinks.
- Connect the controller to a USB port on your Apple device. Wait for it to be recognized.
Turbo Function
Supported buttons for turbo functionality: A, B, X, Y, L, R, L3, R3.
Turbo settings are not permanent and reset after powering off or disconnecting.
Note: Turbo function is not available when connected to Switch.
Turbo Mode
- Turn On: Hold the desired button, then press the Star Button. The Home LED blinks rapidly.
- Turn Off: Hold the desired button, then press the Star Button. The Home LED turns off.
Auto Turbo Mode
- Turn On: Hold the desired button, then press the Star Button twice. The Home LED blinks rapidly.
- Turn Off: Hold the desired button, then press the Star Button. The Home LED turns off.
Battery
Features a built-in 480mAh Li-on battery providing approximately 14 hours of playtime. Charging time is 1 to 2 hours.
Battery Status Indicators
- Low Battery: Red LED blinks.
- Charging: Red LED stays solid.
- Fully Charged: Red LED turns off.
The controller automatically powers off after 1 minute of no connection or 15 minutes of inactivity when connected via Bluetooth. It remains on during wired connections.
Safety Warnings
- Always use batteries, chargers, and accessories provided by the manufacturer.
- The manufacturer is not liable for safety issues arising from the use of non-approved accessories.
- Do not attempt to disassemble, modify, or repair the device yourself.
- Avoid crushing, disassembling, puncturing, or attempting to modify the device or its battery, as this can be dangerous.
