Note: The specified vibration and noise emission values are measured using standardized test procedures and can be used to compare power tools. They can also provide a preliminary assessment of exposure.
WARNING! Vibration and noise emissions may differ from the stated values during actual use, depending on the type and manner of use, and the workpiece being processed.
Try to keep exposure as low as possible. Measures to reduce vibration exposure include wearing gloves and limiting working time. Consider all parts of the operating cycle (e.g., times when the tool is switched off or running without load).
General Safety Instructions for Power Tools
1. Workplace Safety
- Keep your work area clean and well-lit. Cluttered or dark areas can lead to accidents.
- Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases, or dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite dust or fumes.
- Keep children and other persons away while operating the power tool. Distractions can cause you to lose control.
2. Electrical Safety
- The power tool plug must match the socket. Do not modify the plug. Do not use adapter plugs with earthed power tools. Unmodified plugs and matching sockets reduce the risk of electric shock.
- Avoid body contact with earthed surfaces such as pipes, radiators, ranges, and refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is earthed.
- Keep power tools away from rain or wet conditions. Water entering a power tool increases the risk of electric shock.
- Do not misuse the power cord. Do not use it for carrying, pulling, or unplugging the power tool. Keep the cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges, or moving parts. Damaged or tangled cords increase the risk of electric shock.
- When operating a power tool outdoors, use an extension cord suitable for outdoor use. Using an outdoor-suitable extension cord reduces the risk of electric shock.
- If operating a power tool in a damp environment is unavoidable, use a residual current device (RCD). Using an RCD reduces the risk of electric shock.
3. Safety of Persons
- Be attentive, watch what you are doing, and use common sense when operating a power tool. Do not use the power tool if you are tired, or under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or medication. A moment of inattention can lead to serious injury.
- Wear personal protective equipment, including safety glasses. Personal protective equipment, such as a dust mask, non-slip safety shoes, hard hat, or hearing protection, depending on the type and use of the power tool, reduces the risk of injury.
- Avoid unintentional starting. Ensure the power tool is switched off before connecting it to the power supply and/or battery pack, before picking it up, or carrying it. Carrying the power tool with your finger on the switch or connecting the power tool to the power supply while it is switched on can lead to accidents.
- Remove any adjusting tools or wrenches before switching on the power tool. A tool or wrench left in a rotating part of the power tool can cause personal injury.
- Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. This enables better control of the power tool in unexpected situations.
- Wear appropriate clothing. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. Keep hair and clothing away from moving parts. Loose clothing, jewelry, or long hair can be caught by moving parts.
- If dust extraction and collection facilities can be connected, ensure they are connected and properly used. The use of dust extraction can reduce dust-related hazards.
- Do not be complacent and disregard safety rules for power tools, even if you are familiar with the tool after frequent use. Careless actions can cause serious injury in fractions of a second.
4. Use and Handling of Power Tools
- Do not overload the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your application. The right power tool will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it was designed.
- Do not use a power tool if the switch does not turn it on or off. A power tool that cannot be controlled with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired.
- Disconnect the plug and/or remove the detachable battery pack before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing the power tool. These preventive safety measures reduce the risk of unintentionally starting the power tool.
- Store idle power tools out of the reach of children. Do not allow persons unfamiliar with the power tool or these instructions to operate it. Power tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users.
- Maintain power tools and accessories with care. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts, or any other condition that may affect the power tool's operation. If damaged, have the power tool repaired before use. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained power tools.
- Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Sharpened cutting tools are less likely to jam and are easier to control.
- Use the power tool, accessories, and bits etc., in accordance with these instructions, taking into account the working conditions and the work to be performed. Use of the power tool for operations different from those intended could result in a hazardous situation.
- Keep handles and gripping surfaces dry, clean, and free from oil and grease. Slippery handles and gripping surfaces do not allow for safe handling and control of the power tool in unexpected situations.
5. Use and Handling of Battery Tools
- Charge batteries only with chargers recommended by the manufacturer. A charger that is suitable for one type of battery may create a fire hazard when used with another battery.
- Use only the intended batteries in the power tools. Use of other batteries may result in injury and fire hazard.
- Keep the unused battery away from paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws, or other small metal objects that could cause a short circuit of the battery terminals. A short circuit between battery terminals may cause burns or fire.
- In case of improper use, liquid may be ejected from the battery. Avoid contact with it. If contact occurs, flush with water. If liquid gets into eyes, seek medical attention. Ejected battery liquid may cause irritation or burns.
- Do not use a damaged or modified battery. Damaged or modified batteries may exhibit unpredictable behavior resulting in fire, explosion, or injury.
- Do not expose a battery to fire or high temperatures. Fire or temperatures above 130°C (265°F) can cause an explosion.
- Follow all instructions for charging and do not charge the battery or power tool outside the temperature range specified in the operating instructions. Incorrect charging or charging outside the permitted temperature range can damage the battery and increase the risk of fire.
[Attention] EXPLOSION HAZARD! Never charge non-rechargeable batteries.
Protect the battery from heat, e.g., continuous sunlight, fire, water, and moisture. There is an explosion hazard.
6. Service
- Have your power tool repaired by qualified personnel using only original spare parts. This ensures that the safety of the power tool is maintained.
- Never service damaged batteries. All battery servicing should only be performed by the manufacturer or authorized customer service centers.
Specific Safety Instructions for Impact Wrenches
- Wear hearing protection when using the impact wrench. Exposure to noise can cause hearing loss.
- Secure the workpiece. A workpiece held by clamping devices or a vice is held more securely than by hand.
- Hold the power tool firmly. High reaction torques can occur briefly when tightening and loosening screws.
- Wait until the power tool has come to a complete stop before setting it down. The accessory can get jammed and lead to loss of control of the power tool.
- Hold the power tool by the insulated gripping surfaces when performing an operation where the fastener may contact hidden wiring. Contact with a live wire may also make exposed metal parts of the power tool live and cause an electric shock.
Original Accessories / Attachments
Only use accessories and attachments specified in the user manual or whose mounting is compatible with the device.
[Warning] Do not use accessories not recommended by PARKSIDE. This can lead to electric shock and fire.
ACHTUNG! Hot surface. Risk of burns.
