FOXEER Legend 1 Action Camera
The Basics
This section details the physical components of the FOXEER Legend 1 camera.
- 1. Power/Mode Button [power-mode-button]: Used to turn the camera on/off and switch between modes.
- 2. Shutter Button [shutter-button]: Used to start/stop recording or take photos.
- 3. Camera Status Light: Indicates the camera's operational status with colors (blue, yellow, red, green).
- 4. Microphone: Captures audio for recordings.
- 5. Lens: The primary optical component for capturing images and video.
- 6. Reset [reset-button]: A button for resetting the device.
- 7. Micro HDMI Port: For connecting to HD displays (cable not included).
- 8. Tail Light (red): An indicator light on the rear of the camera.
- 9. Mini-USB Port: Used for data transfer, charging, and connecting accessories (supports composite A/V cable).
- 10. Power Charging Instruction Light (green): Indicates the charging status.
- 11. MicroSD Card Slot [microsd-slot]: For inserting memory cards (microSD card not included).
Get Started
This section guides you through the initial setup and basic operations.
1. POWERING ON+OFF
To Power ON: Press the Power/Mode Button [power-mode-button] once. The camera's tail light (red) will flash 3 times, and the sound indicator will emit 3 beeps. The camera is now ON and in Mode1 (1080P Record).
To Power OFF: Press and hold the Power/Mode Button [power-mode-button] for 2 seconds. The camera's tail light (red) will flash 7 times, and the sound indicator will emit 7 beeps. All lights will turn OFF, indicating the camera is OFF.
2. INSERTING+REMOVING MICROSD CARDS
The LEGEND 1 camera is compatible with microSD, microSDHC, and microSDXC memory cards with capacities of 4GB, 8GB, 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB (sold separately). A Class 10 microSD card is required. FOXEER recommends using brand-name memory cards for maximum reliability, especially during high-vibration activities.
NOTICE: Handle memory cards with care. Avoid liquids, dust, and debris. As a precaution, power off the camera before inserting or removing a card. Refer to manufacturer guidelines for acceptable operating temperature ranges.
3. CAMERA DEFAULT SETTINGS
The LEGEND 1 camera powers up with the following default settings:
- Video: Mode1: 1080P60, Wide Field of View (FOV); Mode2: 720P120, Wide Field of View (FOV)
- Photo: Mode3: 16M, Auto Shoot: 3 seconds
- System: Image Rotate: Normal, TV Mode: NTSC, Light Frequency: 50Hz, Auto Shutdown: OFF

Operation Declaration
This section explains how to operate the camera for various functions.
1. 1080P RECORD
In standby mode, short press the Power/Mode Button [power-mode-button] to switch modes. Camera status light (blue) indicates Mode1 (1080P Record). To start recording, press the Shutter Button [shutter-button] once. The sound indicator will beep once, and the camera status light (blue) and tail light (red) will flash at 1Hz. To stop recording, press the Shutter Button [shutter-button] again. The status light (blue) and tail light (red) will flash 3 times, and the sound indicator will emit 3 beeps. The default record resolution for Mode1 is 1080P 60fps; this can be adjusted using the PC software.
2. 720P RECORD
In standby mode, short press the Power/Mode Button [power-mode-button] to switch modes. Camera status light (yellow) indicates Mode2 (720P Record). To start recording, press the Shutter Button [shutter-button] once. The sound indicator will beep once, and the camera status light (yellow) and tail light (red) will flash at 1Hz. To stop recording, press the Shutter Button [shutter-button] again. The status light (yellow) and tail light (red) will flash 3 times, and the sound indicator will emit 3 beeps. The default record resolution for Mode2 is 720P 120fps; this can be adjusted using the PC software.
3. PHOTO
In standby mode, short press the Power/Mode Button [power-mode-button] to switch modes. Camera status light (red) indicates Mode3 (Photo). To start taking photos, press the Shutter Button [shutter-button] once. For auto/manual photos, the sound indicator beeps once, and the status light (red) and tail light (red) flash once after each photo. To stop taking photos, press the Shutter Button [shutter-button] again. The status light (red) and tail light (red) will flash 3 times, and the sound indicator will emit 3 beeps. The default photo setting in Mode3 is 16M, taking one photo every 3 seconds. This can be adjusted using the PC software, including setting the time interval for auto photos or disabling the auto photo function.
4. POWER CHARGING
The camera can be powered by a charger or USB cable. The green power charging instruction light is ON while charging and OFF when fully charged.
5. PERIPHERAL INTERFACES
- a. Mini HDMI Type D interface: For connecting to HD transceivers or HD TVs.
- b. Mini 10Ppin USB interface: Supports USB communication, DC5V power, CVBS output, and remote controller signal input.
6. REMOTE CONTROLLER
Use the included USB connection cable for remote control functionality. Code matching is required before use.
Code Matching Instruction:
- Ensure the remote controller is ready and the camera is turned ON. Connect the USB cable.
- Press and hold the Shutter Button [shutter-button] for 2 seconds. The camera status light (green) flashes at 2Hz, and the sound indicator beeps once.
- Set the remote controller's 3 dip switches to the center position. Press and hold the Shutter Button [shutter-button] for 2 seconds; the sound indicator beeps once, indicating success.
- Set the dip switches to the up position. Press and hold the Shutter Button [shutter-button] for 2 seconds; the sound indicator beeps once, indicating success.
- Set the dip switches to the down position. Press and hold the Shutter Button [shutter-button] for 2 seconds; the sound indicator beeps once, indicating success.
After successful code matching, the green light will turn OFF. You can then control photo or record functions using the 3 dip switches. The order of dip switch settings corresponds to specific functions.
Tips: Keep the controller's 3 dip switches in the middle position for standby. Adjust to the up or down positions for video or photo capture. To stop recording video, adjust the dip switch back to the middle position. This prevents accidental switching between video and photo modes, which could cause the camera to halt.
Reminders
This section provides information on common status indicators and alerts.
1. NO MEMORY CARD INSERTED
If no memory card is inserted and you press the Shutter Button [shutter-button], the sound indicator emits 2 beeps to remind you that recording is not possible.
2. MEMORY FULL
When the memory card is full and recording stops, the tail light (red) flashes at 2Hz. Pressing the Shutter Button [shutter-button] will cause the sound indicator to emit 2 beeps, reminding you that recording cannot continue.
3. LOW POWER
When the camera has low power, the sound indicator emits 2 beeps every second. If the camera turns off automatically due to low power, the power charging instruction light flashes at 4Hz (2Hz), and the sound indicator continues to beep until the camera powers off. If the power is very low and you attempt to turn on the camera, the sound indicator will emit 2 beeps, and the camera will turn off automatically.
PC Software
You can configure camera settings using the PC software, available for download from www.foxeer.com. The software allows adjustments for Mode, Video, Photo, System, and Image settings.
1. MODE SETTING
This section allows selection of video resolution and frame rates for different modes:
- Mode 1: Options include 2304x1296P 30, 1920x1080P 60, 1920x1080P30.
- Mode 2: Options include 1280x720 120, 1280x720P 60, 1280x720P 30.
- Mode 3: Options include 16M (4608x3456 4:3), 12M (4000x3000 4:3), 8M (3264x2448 4:3), 5M (2560x1920 4:3).
2. VIDEO SETTING
- Video Quality: Options: SFine, Fine, Normal.
- FOV (Field of View): Options: Wide, Normal, Narrow.
- Timelapse: Options: OFF, 1 Seconds, 2 Seconds, 5 Seconds, 10 Seconds, 30 Seconds, 60 Seconds.
- Video Stamp: Options: OFF, Time, Date, Date and Time.
- Microphone Volume: A slider from Mute to 100%.
3. PHOTO SETTING
- Photo Quality: Options: SFine, Fine, Normal.
- Auto Shoot: Options: OFF, 3 Seconds, 5 Seconds, 10 Seconds, 30 Seconds, 60 Seconds.
- Photo Stamp: Options: OFF, Time, Date, Date and Time.
4. SYSTEM SETTING
- Sync time and date: Checkbox to synchronize device time with computer.
- Image Rotate: Options: Normal, Rotate 180°.
- TV Mode: Options: NTSC, PAL.
- Light Frequency: Options: 50Hz, 60Hz.
- Auto Shutdown: Options: OFF, 3 Min, 5 Min, 10 Min.
- Date Format: Options: yyyy-MM-dd HH:mm:ss, dd-MM-yyyy HH:mm:ss, MM-dd-yyyy HH:mm:ss.
5. IMAGE SETTING
- Meter: Options: Spot, Multi, Center.
- ISO: Options: Auto, 100, 200, 400, 800, 1600.
- White Balance: Options: Auto, Cloudy, Daylight, Incandescent.
- EV (Exposure Value): A slider from -2.0 to +2.0, with a default of 0.
Saving Settings:
You can save your custom settings. After configuring settings, connect the device to your computer as a removable device and select the corresponding disk. Click the 'Set' button to create a configuration file of your user settings and save it to the root folder of the selected disk. Disconnect the USB cable; the device will apply the settings and turn off automatically. Ensure the device has sufficient power during this process.
