Important Safety Instructions

When using this product, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and injury. These include:

  1. Follow all warnings and instructions marked on the product.
  2. Adult setup is required.
  3. CAUTION: Do not install the baby unit at a height above 6.5 feet (2 meters).
  4. This product is intended as an aid and is not a substitute for responsible adult supervision.
  5. This product is not intended for use as a medical monitor.
  6. Do not use this product near water (e.g., bath, sink, swimming pool, shower).
  7. CAUTION: Use only the supplied, non-user replaceable battery for the parent unit. Risk of explosion if the wrong battery type is used. Do not expose batteries to extreme temperatures, low air pressure at high altitude, fire, or hot ovens. Mechanically crushing or cutting batteries can cause explosion. Dispose of used batteries according to RBRC seal information.
  8. Use only the supplied power adapters. Incorrect polarity or voltage can damage the product.
    • Parent unit power adapter: Output: 5V DC @ 2A (Model: VT07EUS05200 by VTech Telecommunications Ltd.)
    • Baby unit power adapter: Output: 5V DC @ 1A (Model: VT05EUS05100 by VTech Telecommunications Ltd.)
    • Rechargeable battery: 3.7V 5000mAh, 18.5Wh Lithium-ion battery (Model: GSP806090-5Ah-3.7V-1S1P by Zhuhai Great Power Energy Co., Ltd.)
  9. Power adapters should be oriented vertically or floor-mounted. Do not plug into ceiling, under-table, or cabinet outlets where prongs may not hold the plug.
  10. For pluggable equipment, the socket-outlet should be near the equipment and easily accessible.
  11. Unplug before cleaning. Use a damp cloth; do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners.
  12. Do not modify or replace power adapters with third-party adapters.
  13. Do not place anything on power cords and do not install where cords may be walked on or damaged.
  14. Operate only from the indicated power source. Consult your dealer or provider if unsure.
  15. Do not overload wall outlets or use extension cords.
  16. Do not place on unstable surfaces.
  17. Ensure proper ventilation; do not block openings. Do not place near radiators or heat sources.
  18. Never insert objects through apertures or slots, as this can cause damage or dangerous voltages. Never spill liquids on the product.
  19. To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not disassemble. Take to an authorized service facility.
  20. Test sound reception when turning on units or moving components.
  21. Periodically examine all components for damage.
  22. Be aware of the low risk of privacy loss with electronic devices. Reset the baby monitor periodically and power it off when not in use.
  23. Children should be supervised to ensure they do not play with the product.
  24. Small parts can be swallowed by children; keep out of reach.
  25. The product is not intended for use by persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience, unless supervised or instructed by a responsible person.

SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS

Cautions:

  • Use and store between 32°F (0°C) and 104°F (40°C).
  • Mishandling batteries can cause burns, fire, or explosion hazards.
  • Do not expose batteries to excessive heat (sunshine, fire).
  • Do not expose the product to extreme cold, heat, or direct sunlight. Do not place near heat sources.
  • Warning—Strangulation Hazard: Children have STRANGLED in cords. Keep cords out of reach of children (more than 3 ft / 0.9m away). Do not remove warning labels on adapter cords.
    • French: Risque d'étranglement. Éloignez ce cordon des enfants. Le cordon doit se trouver à au moins trois pieds d'un enfant et ce, en tout temps. N'utilisez pas de rallonge. Ne retirez pas cette étiquette.

  • Never place baby units in a crib or playpen. Never cover units with towels or blankets.
  • Other electronic products can cause interference. Install baby units as far as possible from wireless routers, radios, mobile telephones, intercoms, room monitors, televisions, personal computers, kitchen appliances (e.g., microwaves), and cordless telephones.

Precautions for users of implanted cardiac pacemakers:

Wireless Technology Research, LLC (WTR) recommends that pacemaker patients keep wireless devices at least six inches from the pacemaker and should NOT place wireless devices directly over the pacemaker (e.g., in a breast pocket) when turned ON. WTR's evaluation found no risk to bystanders with pacemakers from other persons using wireless devices.

Electromagnetic fields (EMF):

This VTech product complies with all standards regarding electromagnetic fields (EMF). When handled properly and according to instructions, the product is safe.

Setup Steps

1. Connect the Baby Monitor

Connect Power Adapters:

  • Connect the power adapter to the baby unit and plug it into a wall outlet.
  • Connect the power adapter to the parent unit and plug it into a wall outlet.

Charge the Parent Unit Battery:

  • The rechargeable battery in the parent unit is built-in.
  • Before first use, charge the parent unit battery for 12 hours.
  • When fully charged, the battery icon segments will be solid. Charging takes longer when the parent unit is on; turn it off to shorten charging time.
  • Battery Indicators:
    • Flashing light / screen displays : Battery has very little power. Charge without interruption (approx. 30 minutes).
    • Solid battery icon segments : Battery is fully charged. Connect to AC power when in use to maintain charge.

Notes:

  • Use only the supplied power adapters.
  • Ensure parent and baby units are not connected to electronically controlled power outlets.
  • Connect adapters vertically or floor-mounted.
  • Keep all cords out of reach of children.

2. Power On or Off the Baby Monitor

  • Baby Unit: Slide the ON/OFF switch to power on or off. The baby unit’s POWER LED light turns on when powered on.
  • Parent Unit: Press and hold the POWER button to power on or off. The LINK LED light turns on when a link is established.

3. Positioning the Baby Monitor

  • Placement: Keep the baby unit out of the baby's reach. Never place or mount the baby unit inside the baby's crib or playpen.
  • Distance: Ensure the baby unit and parent unit are more than 3 feet (1 meter) apart to avoid feedback noise.
  • Interference: Place the baby monitor at least 3 feet (1 meter) away from devices like wireless routers, microwaves, mobile phones, and computers to avoid interference.

4. Status Check

Once both units are powered on, the parent unit should display an image from the baby unit, and the LINK LED light should be on. The baby unit’s POWER LED light should also be on.

Basic Operation - Parent Unit

The parent unit allows you to monitor and control the baby unit.

Controls and Functions:

  • Adjust Volume: Press VOL - / VOL + buttons to adjust speaker volume.
  • Pan and Tilt: Use the Arrow keys (⬆️, ⬇️, ⬅️, ➡️) to pan and tilt the baby unit camera.
  • Talk to Baby Unit: Press and hold the TALK button and speak into the parent unit. Release TALK to hear the baby unit.
  • Turn Off Screen: Press the LCD off/POWER key to turn off the parent unit screen without powering off the unit. Press any key to turn the screen back on.
  • Use the Menu: Press the MENU/SELECT button to enter the menu. Use arrow keys to navigate and SELECT to choose or save settings. Press RETURN to go back. Press /TALK to return to live video.

Menu Options:

  • Brightness: Adjust the parent unit LCD brightness.
  • Lullaby: Play/stop soothing sounds or melodies. Select individual sounds, play all, or set a timer.
  • Screen Off Timer: Set the parent unit screen to turn off automatically after a selected time to save energy. Alerts will still turn the screen on.
  • Sound Sensitivity: Select AUTO mode for the screen to turn on automatically when sounds exceed a set level. Adjust the baby unit microphone sensitivity. The screen turns off again after 50 seconds if sound levels are low.
  • Alert Tone Settings: Configure beeps for low battery, lost link, confirmation tones, and sound detection in Split mode.
  • Temperature: Turn temperature alert tone on/off. Set minimum and maximum temperature thresholds. Choose temperature display in Fahrenheit (°F) or Celsius (°C).
  • Baby Unit Settings: Adjust the baby unit speaker volume.
  • Zoom: Use 2X / 1X icons to zoom in or out.
  • Monitoring Mode (for multi-unit setups):
    • Single CAM mode: Displays image from one selected baby unit full screen.
    • Split mode: Displays images from multiple baby units simultaneously in a split view.
    • Patrol mode: Cycles through different baby units every 10 seconds in a single view.
