Getting Started
This manual provides essential information for setting up and operating your Simmons trail camera. It covers parts and controls, battery and SD card installation, navigating the setup menu, and basic camera operation. For troubleshooting, refer to the FAQ section on pages 17-20 of the full manual.
Simmons recommends using 4 Energizer® Lithium AA batteries for maximum battery life and SanDisk® SD and SDHC Cards (up to 32GB) for memory.
Camera Operation Overview
Mounting the Camera
Mount the camera approximately 4-5 feet (1.2-1.5 meters) high, angled slightly downwards. Avoid facing the camera east or west to prevent sun glare. Ensure the area in front of the lens and PIR sensor is clear of obstructions.
Powering On
Ensure batteries are correctly installed and the power switch is set to 'ON'. The camera will enter a 'sleep' status. When the PIR sensor detects motion, the camera will capture images or videos after the set delay time.
Setup Menu
The setup menu allows customization of date, time, delay settings, image mode (photo resolution or video length), and SD card formatting. Use the UP, DOWN, and OK buttons to navigate and select options. Press the SETUP button to enter or exit the menu.
For detailed descriptions of each menu item and its settings, please refer to the full instruction manual.
