Warning: Ensure the circuit is de-energized before performing continuity tests.
Diode Test
1. Select the diode symbol ( D ) on the rotary selector.
2. Connect the black test lead to the COM jack and the red test lead to the V/Ω/mA jack.
3. Touch the probes to the leads of the diode.
4. The forward voltage drop of the diode will be displayed on the LCD screen.
Warning: Ensure the circuit is de-energized before performing diode tests.
Capacitance Measurement
1. Select the F (Capacitance) function on the rotary selector.
2. Ensure the capacitor is fully discharged before measurement.
3. Connect the black test lead to the COM jack and the red test lead to the V/Ω/mA jack.
4. Connect the test leads to the capacitor terminals.
5. Read the capacitance value displayed on the LCD screen.
Warning: Always discharge capacitors before measuring their capacitance to prevent damage to the instrument or personal injury.
Frequency Measurement
1. Select the Hz (Frequency) function on the rotary selector.
2. Insert the jaws around the conductor carrying the signal, or connect the test leads to the signal source.
3. Read the frequency value displayed on the LCD screen.
Warning: Do not measure frequency above 10MHz.
Temperature Measurement
1. Select the °C/°F (Temperature) function on the rotary selector.
2. Connect the temperature probe to the appropriate jacks (usually COM and V/Ω/mA).
3. Place the probe tip on the object whose temperature is to be measured.
4. Read the temperature value displayed on the LCD screen.
Warning: Do not measure temperature above 1000°C.
AC/DC Current Measurement
1. Select the A~ (AC Current) or A- (DC Current) function on the rotary selector.
2. Open the jaws by squeezing the trigger.
3. Clamp the jaws around the conductor carrying the current to be measured.
4. Read the current value displayed on the LCD screen.
Warning: Do not measure current higher than 1000A.
