Quick Start with ODYSSEY - X86J4125 v2

Before you Start

Ensure you have the following peripherals:

  1. An external monitor
  2. A keyboard and a mouse
  3. An HDMI Cable

Attaching External Storage

If your ODYSSEY - X86J4125 v2 came with 64GB eMMC storage, you can skip this step. For additional storage needs, follow these methods:

There are four methods of adding storage:

  1. Through M.2 PCIE Connector
  2. Through M.2 SATA connector
  3. Through SATA Connector
  4. Through Micro-SD Card Slot

Note: M.2 SATA, M.2 PCIE, and SATA connectors support operating system installation. The Micro SD Card slot is for external storage only.

Note: One antenna is for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, while the second antenna is for enhanced 5G connectivity.

Connecting to a display

There are two methods to connect your ODYSSEY - X86J4125 v2 to an external display:

Method 1: HDMI

Connect an HDMI cable from the board's HDMI port to your monitor.

Connecting to a keyboard and a mouse

Connect your preferred keyboard and mouse to the ODYSSEY - X86J4125 v2 using any of the available USB connectors.

Adding external TPM (Optional)

The ODYSSEY - X86J4125 v2 features a built-in fTPM (2.0). If an external TPM is not required, this step can be skipped.

Powering up

There are two ways to power up your ODYSSEY - X86J4125 v2:

Method 1: Using the 12V/2A Power Adapter

Connect the provided 12V/2A power adapter to the board's DC jack.

Connect a USB Type-C cable that supports Power Delivery (PD) to the board's Type-C port.

Steps to Power On:

  1. Connect the power source using one of the methods above.
  2. Press the power button. The blue power LED will turn on, indicating the device is powered. The diagram shows a finger pressing the power button.

Installing an Operating System

The ODYSSEY - X86J4125 v2 supports both Windows and Linux operating systems. For users with the non-eMMC version, external storage can be attached by following the previous steps to create a bootable USB drive for OS installation. If you have the eMMC version with Windows pre-installed, you can additionally install Linux as per your requirements.

Step 1: Connect Bootable USB Drive

Connect your bootable USB drive into one of the USB ports on the ODYSSEY - X86J4125 v2.

Step 2: Access Boot Manager

Press the power button and then continuously press the F7 key on your keyboard until the Boot Manager screen appears.

On the Boot Manager screen, select your connected USB Drive as the boot drive and press Enter.

Adding 4G Cellular Connectivity

Step 1: Insert Micro-SIM Card

Insert a Micro-SIM card into the designated SIM card slot on the bottom layer of the board.

Insert a USB interface 4G module (M.2 B Key) into the corresponding M.2 slot.
