Amazon Echo Auto Quick Start Guide

This guide provides essential instructions for setting up and using your Amazon Echo Auto, ensuring a smooth integration into your vehicle.

What's in the box

Your Echo Auto package includes:

For optimal performance, it is recommended to use the items provided in the original Echo Auto packaging.

1. Plug in your Echo Auto

Connect one end of the included micro-USB cable to the Echo Auto's micro-USB port. Connect the other end of the cable to your car's 12V power outlet using the provided in-car power adapter. Alternatively, you can use your car's built-in USB port if available.

Turn on your car's ignition to power the device. A sweeping orange light will appear, followed by Alexa greeting you, indicating the Echo Auto is ready for setup. If the orange light does not appear within one minute, press and hold the Action button for 8 seconds.

2. Download the Alexa App

Obtain the latest version of the Alexa App from your mobile device's app store.

The Alexa App is essential for maximizing your Echo Auto experience. It allows you to set up calling and messaging, manage music playback, create lists, adjust settings, and receive news updates.

3. Set up your Echo Auto using the Alexa App

Within the Alexa App, tap the 'Devices' icon, typically located in the lower right corner. Follow the on-screen instructions to add and configure your new Echo Auto device.

4. Mount your Echo Auto

Select a suitable flat surface on your car's dashboard, ideally near the center, for mounting the Echo Auto. Clean the chosen surface thoroughly with the included alcohol cleaning pad. Once clean, peel the protective plastic cover from the adhesive side of the dashboard mount. Position the mount on the dashboard so that the Echo Auto device sits horizontally, with its LED light bar oriented towards the driver.
