Siemens Dishwasher SN63EX02CE: Quick Start Guide
Before first use, please read the operating instructions and safety information provided.
Configuring Home Connect
Connect your appliance to your mobile device for convenient settings adjustments via the Home Connect app.
- Install the Home Connect app on your device and follow the instructions.
- Scan the QR code with the Home Connect app.
Water Hardness Settings
The table below shows the available water hardness values. The operating instructions include a table with country-specific units.

Setting the Water Softener
- Press the Setup button.
- Press and hold Setup for 3 seconds to open basic settings. The display will show Hxx, then set.
- Press Start repeatedly until the correct water hardness is set.
- To save the settings, press and hold Setup for 3 seconds.
Filling with Special Salt
To prevent damage to the appliance, only fill the special salt compartment immediately before starting the program.
- Unscrew and remove the lid of the special salt compartment.
- For first-time use: completely fill the compartment with water.
- Fill the special salt compartment. The water in the compartment is displaced and flows out. Never fill with detergent.
- Screw the lid back on and turn it to close.
Filling with Rinse Aid
- Press the tab on the rinse aid compartment lid and lift it.
- Fill with rinse aid up to the maximum mark.
- Close the rinse aid compartment lid. The lid clicks shut audibly.
Detergent Dispensing
- Dispense detergent into the detergent compartment.
- Close the detergent compartment lid. The lid clicks shut audibly.
Programs
Program data are laboratory values in accordance with European standard EN 60436. Consumption values depend on the selected program and any additional function used. The duration will vary depending on the rinse aid dispenser setting and the presence of rinse aid.

How to Proceed
- Load the dishwasher. Only load dishwasher-safe tableware. Remove coarse food residue from tableware. Check that the spray arms can turn freely.
- Fill with detergent.
- Switch on the appliance.
- Set the program.
- Start the program using Start.
- Empty the dishwasher after the program has finished.
- To interrupt the program, press and hold Reset for approx. 4 seconds. The program is interrupted and ends after 1 minute.
Troubleshooting
E:32-00 or water inlet indicator lights up
- Cause: Water inlet hose is kinked. Solution: Straighten the water inlet hose.
- Cause: Water tap is closed. Solution: Open the water tap.
- Cause: Water tap is seized or limescale-affected. Solution: Open the water tap. Water flow rate must be at least 10 l/min when the water inlet is open.
E:61-02 lights up
- Cause: Drain pump is blocked. Solution: Clean the drain pump.
- Cause: Drain pump cover is not properly engaged. Solution: Engage the drain pump cover correctly.
E:92-40 lights up
- Cause: Filters are dirty or blocked. Solution: Clean the filters.
- Cause: Filters are incorrectly inserted or not engaged. Solution: Insert filters correctly and ensure they are engaged.
Food residue on tableware
- Cause: Selected wash program is too weak. Solution: Select a more intensive wash program.
- Cause: Tableware is loaded too densely or the dishwasher basket is overloaded. Solution: Leave sufficient space when loading tableware. Ensure spray arms can rotate freely.
- Cause: Spray arm rotation is obstructed. Solution: Load tableware so that it does not impede the rotation of the spray arms.
- Cause: Spray nozzles of the spray arms are blocked. Solution: Clean the spray arms.
- Cause: Filters are dirty. Solution: Clean the filters.
Glasses, metallic-looking glasses, and cutlery have easily removable streaks
- Cause: Amount of rinse aid dispensed is too high. Solution: Reduce the amount of rinse aid dispensed.
- Cause: No rinse aid is added. Solution: Add rinse aid.
Rust spots on cutlery
- Cause: Cutlery is not sufficiently rust-resistant. Knife blades are most affected. Solution: Use rust-resistant tableware. Cutlery will also rust if washed with other rusting parts. Do not wash rusting parts.
Detergent residue in the detergent compartment or tablet collecting tray
- Cause: Spray arms are blocked by tableware, preventing detergent from dissolving. Solution: Ensure spray arms are not blocked during rotation.
All LEDs light up or flash, or the wash program aborts
- Cause: The electronics have detected a fault. Solution: Press and hold the main switch for approx. 4 seconds. The appliance will reset to the factory settings and restart.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Cleaning the Filters
- Check for debris in the filters after each wash cycle.
- Turn the coarse filter counterclockwise and remove the filter system.
- Pull the microfilter downwards.
- Press the retaining clips and remove the coarse filter from above.
- Rinse the filter components under running water.
- Reassemble the filter system.
- Place the filter system in the appliance and turn the coarse filter clockwise. Ensure the arrows align.
Cleaning the Spray Arms
- Unscrew the upper spray arm ① and pull it downwards ②.
- Remove the lower spray arm by pulling it upwards.
- Under running water, ensure the spray nozzles are clear and remove any foreign objects.
- Install the lower spray arm. The spray arm clicks into place audibly.
- Insert and screw on the upper spray arm.
Cleaning the Drain Pump
- Disconnect the appliance from the power supply.
- Remove the filter system.
- Scoop out any present water.
- Lift the pump cover using a spoon, then grip the cover by the rib.
- Lift the cover diagonally inwards and remove it.
- Remove food residue and foreign objects around the impeller.
- Replace the pump cover and push it down ②. The pump cover clicks into place audibly.
- Install the filter system.
Troubleshooting: Inlet Hose
Cause and troubleshooting for E:32-00 or water inlet indicator light:
- Kinked inlet hose: Straighten the hose.
- Closed water tap: Open the tap.
- Seized or limescale-affected water tap: Open the tap. Ensure a flow rate of at least 10 l/min.
- Filter in the inlet hose and AquaStop hose is blocked: Disconnect appliance, turn off water, unscrew water connection, remove and clean filter, reinsert filter, screw back water connection, check for leaks, reconnect power, switch on appliance.
