ASSA ABLOY PIN Lock Quick Start Guide
Experience a safer and more open world with ASSA ABLOY.
Programming the New PIN Lock
Important: Keep the door open during programming! Do not lock the door before testing the master code.
Option 1: Programming the PIN Lock for Public Use
Turn the knob to the locked position.
Example 1:
Set master code (8 digits). Example: Enter *12345678* to set 12345678 as the master code.
Example 2:
Set master code (8 digits) and service code (6 digits). Example: Enter *12345678 223344* to set 12345678 as the master code and 223344 as the service code.
Since no 4-digit user code is programmed, the lock will enter public use mode and remain unlocked.
Note: Do not program any codes used in the examples when programming locks for customers!
Option 2: Programming the PIN Lock for Private Use (1 User Code)
Turn the knob to the locked position.
Set master code (8 digits).
Set user code (4 digits).
Example: *12345678 2222* sets 12345678 as the master code and 2222 as the user code.
The lock will enter private use mode and lock automatically.
Tip: You can add more user codes by entering them one by one, within five seconds of each other.
Further programming is explained in the programming instructions.
Battery Installation and Replacement
Battery Type: AAA/LR03 ALKALINE BATTERY, 3 PCS
The battery compartment cover is on the back of the lock. The door must be opened to replace the batteries.
Open the fixing screw (1) from the inside of the door and turn the lock (2) to the appropriate position for battery replacement.
If battery replacement is not possible as described above, the lock must be removed from the door entirely for battery replacement.
Troubleshooting
Master Code Unknown
ASSA ABLOY PIN locks are delivered in factory settings. Code programming is usually done after lock installation. ASSA ABLOY cannot know which master and user codes have been programmed into each installed lock. This information must be requested from the lock's seller.
Tip! You can try these two master codes: *12345678* and *11111111*. If the lock opens with these codes, change the code for security reasons.
(When entering the master code, press the asterisk key before and after the code, e.g., *12345678*.)
If the master code is unknown and the seller cannot provide it, you can reset the lock to factory settings. This requires access to the back of the lock, meaning the door must be open.
Note: Resetting to factory settings (resetting the lock) will delete all programmed codes and functions.
Remove the fixing screw from the back of the lock and turn the lock to the position shown on the previous page (battery replacement). There is a small opening to the right of the battery compartment. To reset the factory settings, press the switch in the small opening on the back of the lock for two seconds using a straightened paperclip.
Reprogram the lock according to the instructions.
User Code Does Not Open Lock
Check the following:
A. The indicator light turns on with each key press.
B. The red indicator light is on after entering the user code.
C. Three green indicator lights are on after entering the user code.
A: Cause: If the indicator light does not turn on when a key is pressed, the lock's batteries are likely depleted.
Correction: Power the lock via the external USB port. Open the lock with the master code and replace the batteries.
B: Cause: Incorrect user code. The user has forgotten the code or is trying to open the wrong cabinet.
Correction 1: If the lock is in public use mode and a service code is programmed, open the lock with the service code. This does not delete the programmed user code. The service code can be used to verify the cabinet contents.
Correction 2: Open the cabinet with the master code. If the lock is in public use mode, using the master code will delete the programmed user code.
C: Cause: The knob is not set correctly, preventing the lock motor from opening. The knob must point towards the indicator light. The bolt of the lock may be pressing against the frame.
Correction: Turn the knob to the correct position. Open the lock with the master code and ensure the bolt is in the open position. Slightly bend the bolt if it is pressing against the frame.
