Integrating NEC and Microsoft Technologies
Orchestrating a brighter world
Unify your communications
Empower your employees with a seamless communications solution.
NEC's communications technology, combined with Microsoft Lync or Skype for Business, offers a powerful integration that enhances business operations. This synergy leverages the strengths of both platforms to provide a unified and efficient communication experience.
By integrating these technologies, businesses can provide users with a seamless communication solution that improves efficiency and fosters more effective communication with colleagues, partners, and customers.
Why integrate?
Integrating NEC and Microsoft technologies offers several key advantages:
- Stay in contact with click-to-dial: Initiate calls directly from your computer with a simple click.
- Know availability: See when colleagues are available to communicate, indicated by simple color-coded icons.
- Leverage existing investment: Utilize your current UC equipment for enhanced communication capabilities.
- Seamless integration: Enjoy telephony integration without the need for additional Skype for Business licenses.
- Stay in contact with people inside and outside your organisation: Communicate effectively with both internal and external contacts.
Your staff can manage their desk phones directly from their computers, enabling them to answer calls, place calls, hold, transfer, and enter conferences using on-screen controls. With Skype for Business, employees can also participate in immersive collaboration sessions, joining from virtually any device, which can lead to cost savings on third-party conferencing services.
The benefit of an integrated solution
- Integrated directory: Access contacts from your corporate directory or Outlook, complete with profile pictures.
- Real-time presence: Instantly view colleague availability through color-coded icons, including their phone status.
- Collaborate: Conduct multi-party audio and video conferences, sharing content in real-time. Invite participants from within or outside your organization directly from Outlook.
- Click to call: Eliminate manual dialing by looking up contacts and initiating calls with a simple right-click or drag-and-drop.
- Send instant messages: Communicate with individuals or groups through real-time chat. Federation allows integration with external contacts for presence information.
- Call handling: Receive incoming call notifications with caller details and photos. Manage calls with an intuitive on-screen control window.
Rich conferencing
Skype for Business enables employees to engage in rich collaboration sessions, sharing voice, video, files, and applications in real-time. This is invaluable for sharing ideas and knowledge within and outside the organization.
NEC's UG30 voice gateway extends this capability, allowing staff and external participants to join meetings from any phone. Participants can choose to be called on their desk phone or dial in using a predefined number and conference ID.
Integrating Skype for Business and NEC phone systems can reduce costs by eliminating the need for expensive external audio conferencing services.
The integration flow involves:
- Skype for Business Client
- UC Connector
- SV9300/SV9500 Server
- Internal phones
- External Callers
Total control on your desk phone
NEC's UC Connector provides comprehensive features for managing daily communications. It allows for click-to-dial directly from Skype for Business, Microsoft Outlook, and web links.
Incoming call notifications provide caller information, and missed calls are logged. A list of all calls (missed, made, received), including caller name and photo, is readily accessible.
During a call, a control window allows for actions such as Hold, transfer, conference, swap between callers, and hang up. The UC Connector enhances communication regardless of whether an NEC IP or traditional desk phone is used.
Always have the right number: Incoming calls display a list of contact numbers from your corporate directory and Outlook.
Know who's calling: Screen pops display caller photos, names, and numbers for incoming calls. Simply click the phone icon to answer.
Make calls: Dial numbers directly or use drag-and-drop functionality.
