Introduction

Thank you for purchasing the SONICWARE SmplTrek. This battery-powered, handheld sampler allows for easy sound capture anywhere, utilizing its built-in microphone, audio inputs, and USB audio sources. The SmplTrek features a 10-track sequencer across up to 16 scenes per song, with 3 Global audio tracks for extended vocal and instrumental recordings. It offers 36 effects, including mastering effects, suitable for various track types like loop, one-shot, instrument, drum, and MIDI.

Key Features

Sample Easily Anywhere

Capture sounds using the built-in mic, line inputs, or USB-connected devices like smartphones, PCs, and Macs. Built-in effects can be applied during sampling.

Looper Style Music Production

Play back sampled sounds using various track types within scenes to create music.

Various Track Types

LOOP tracks: Ideal for sampling and looping phrases from drums, guitars, and other instruments.
SHOT tracks: For playing one-shot samples like sound effects and crash cymbals.
INST tracks: Play phrases in scales using samples of single notes from instruments.
DRUM tracks: Create drum patterns with bass drums, snares, hi-hats, and other drum sounds.
MIDI tracks: Piano-roll style sequencer tracks for use with external MIDI equipment.

Getting Started

Power Supply

The SmplTrek can be powered by the included AC adapter or 6 AA batteries. Ensure to use the correct AC adapter to avoid damage. A low battery indicator will appear when power is low.

Starting Up and Shutting Down

Press and hold the POWER switch to turn the unit on or off.

Preparing Cards

Compatible Cards

Supports SDHC cards up to 32 GB (CLASS 10 or higher). SDXC cards are not compatible.

Formatting and Data Generation

Format and duplicate preset data, drum kits, instrument sound sources, and demo projects onto a compatible SD card via the SYSTEM MENU.
