2 CONFIGURE THE CONVERTER
If it is the first time that you are going to configure the converter, please flash the converter firmware once through SD card to access configuration files.
● Mark: Please refer to chapter 6 for camera firmware update steps.
After flashing converter firmware via SD card, two ".txt" files will appear in the root directory of the SD card: curip.txt
for checking current IP addresses and setip.txt
for changing IP addresses.
2.1 Check IP
Open the curip.txt
file to view the converter's current IP addresses. The factory default IP address is typically 192.168.144.25
.
2.2 Change IP
Open the setip.txt
file and input the desired IP address after "IP = ".
Then, insert the SD card into the converter and restart it. After 3 to 5 minutes, the IP addresses will be flashed. Restart the converter again to finalize the IP address change.
● Mark: When using the converter with SIYI MK15 or HM30 systems, configure IP addresses within the "192.168.144.X" range to avoid conflicts. Refer to the "Common IP Addresses" chapter in the MK15 and HM30 user manuals for details.
3 VIDEO RECORDING
The Air Unit HDMI Input Converter supports video recording via the "SIYI FPV" app. When the app is running, tap the "Record" button on the touchscreen to start recording. The button will change to "Recording", and tapping it again will stop the recording.
● Mark: Ensure an SD/TF card is inserted before recording. Use SIYI FPV app version v404 or later for this feature.
4 IMAGE TRANSMISSION AND DISPLAY
The Air Unit HDMI Input Converter is an HDMI module that connects to SIYI and third-party image transmission systems.
4.1 Connect to HM30 HD Image Transmission System
Connect the converter to the HM30 air unit's video input port and the camera's HDMI output port. Use a mobile device to connect to the HM30 ground unit and run the SIYI FPV app. In the app's camera settings, select "SIYI Camera 1" or the default RTSP addresses. After powering on and binding the HM30 ground unit and air unit, the image from the converter will appear in the SIYI FPV app.
● Mark: The HM30 HD Image Transmission System supports multiple display and output methods for video streams. Refer to Chapter 6 of the HM30 user manual for details.
4.2 Connect to MK15 Mini Handheld Smart Controller
Connect the converter to the MK15 air unit's video input port and the camera's HDMI output port. Turn on the MK15 remote controller and run the SIYI FPV app. In the app's camera settings, select "SIYI Camera 1" or the default RTSP addresses. After powering on the MK15 air unit and binding it to the remote controller, the image from the converter will be visible in the SIYI FPV app.
4.3 Connect to Third-Party Image Transmission Systems
The converter can output video streams to third-party image transmission systems that have an Ethernet port and support RTSP video streams. Prepare a video cable for connection between the converter and the image transmission system.
CAUTION: Ensure the converter's output port's "RX-" pin connects to the image transmission system video port's "RX-", and "RX+" to "RX+". Incorrect pin connections can damage the device. The converter operates on 12V DC; verify the power voltage input is normal before wiring.
Steps:
- Power on the air unit of the image transmission system and bind it with the ground unit.
- Use the video cable to connect the converter's video output port to the image transmission system's video input port.
- Open video display software and input the converter's RTSP addresses (e.g.,
rtsp://192.168.144.25:8554/main.264
). If the video displays correctly, the connection is successful.
4.4 Solutions to No Image from the Converter
If the converter fails to output video or the video stream is not displayed correctly, follow these steps to diagnose possible reasons:
- Confirm that the image transmission system ground unit is bound with the air unit and that the converter is connected to the air unit.
- Open the "SIYI FPV" app and check the Camera IP. It should be "SIYI Camera 1" (for IP addresses 192.168.144.25) or "SIYI Camera 2" (for IP addresses 192.168.144.26).
- Verify the converter's current IP addresses are "192.168.144.25" or "192.168.144.26". If not, re-configure the IP addresses.
● Mark: In the SIYI FPV App's Camera IP menu, you can also input the full RTSP addresses of the converter to display the video stream.
If the video stream still does not display, follow these steps for a deeper investigation based on your video output mode and display device:
4.4.1 Video Output to An Android Device
- Input the converter's default IP address (
192.168.144.25
) into the "Ping Tools" app and check if network communication is successful. If a response is received, verify the RTSP address in the SIYI FPV app is correct.
A screenshot shows the 'Ping Tools' app with the IP address '192.168.144.25' and port '8554'. Multiple successful responses are displayed, indicating network communication is active, with timings like '3 milliseconds'.
- If network communication fails, check if communication between the image transmission system's ground unit and the air unit is successful. If it is, inspect the video cable between the converter and the air unit for damage and ensure the voltage input is within the normal range.
4.4.2 Video Output to A Windows Device
- Use the "Win + R" key combination to open the "Run" program and type "cmd" to open the command prompt.
A Windows command prompt window shows successful ping results to '192.168.144.25', with replies indicating low latency (e.g., 'time=9ms').
Another Windows command prompt window shows failed ping results to '192.168.144.25', with 'Request timed out' messages and a high packet loss percentage (e.g., '50% loss').
- Input the converter's default IP address (
192.168.144.25
) and press "Enter" to check communication. If successful, ensure the RTSP addresses in your RTSP player are correct or try a different video player. - If network communication fails, check the communication between the image transmission system's ground unit and the air unit. If that is successful, inspect the video cable between the camera and the air unit for damage and confirm the voltage input is within the normal range.
● Mark: If you have followed all investigation steps but the issue persists, please contact your dealer or SIYI Support immediately.
