6 USE INTENDED
6.1 Use Expected
The device is authorized for daily use only if all security elements and functional parts are efficient. The lift is intended to lift and transfer disabled people from bed to wheelchair and vice versa. It is a gentle aid and should not be used for purposes other than those for which it was designed. The aid can only operate on flat surfaces with a stable bottom. Use is exclusively as described in this manual; read these instructions carefully to become familiar with the device's functionality.
6.2 Prohibition of Use
- Cannot be used for lifting things other than people.
- Cannot be used if the person's weight exceeds the maximum permissible load (150 kg).
- Cannot be used if the size or pathology of the subject to be lifted is not well secured by the supplied harness. Contact the manufacturer or representative if in doubt.
- Cannot be used by conductors with a slender physical structure or otherwise unable to control the total mass.
- Cannot be used in environments subject to splashes of water or critical or unfavorable weather conditions.
- Should not be used if principles described in Chapter 2 are not respected.
- Should not be used if defects are noticed, as these could generate unpredictable dangerous situations.
6.3 Residual Risks
- Risk of crushing the holder's feet if manual requirements are not adopted.
- Risk of entangling clothing if it falls and reaches the bottom of the aid.
- Risk of falling of the transporter if necessary precautions are not taken for a stable posture.
7 USE
Before daily use, always check the status and overall efficiency of the aid and battery charge.
7.1 Battery charge
The control unit has a "female" socket for battery charging on the battery chassis. Charging indications are provided.
- The battery must be charged using only the supplied cables. Avoid extensions, adapters, or other devices.
- The battery's charging status is directly visible on the control unit.
- Batteries do not require maintenance.
- Connect the connector to the socket on the machine.
- Connect the charger plug to the electrical network.
- Charging the battery from reserve or a fully discharged state takes about 1.5 hours.
If the device is intended to remain unused for a long-term (over one month), recharge the battery every month.
7.2 Lifting function
- Ensure the battery is charged.
- Check that the security button is unlocked.
- Press the button on the remote control to operate the lifting.
7.3 Safety ring functionality
In case of potential malfunctions of the electrical group or critical situations (e.g., unexpected shutdowns due to low battery), the height of the lifting arm and its barbell can be adjusted manually by acting on the appropriate safety ring located at the end of the linear actuator.
OPERATING MODE OF THE RING SYSTEM:
The red knob (a) at the top of the actuator can be manually moved downwards (from fig. 1 to fig. 2 position). This allows manual ascent or descent of the lifting arm. The lift is equipped with safety against accidental crushing by the arm; if the arm encounters an obstacle during motorized downward movement, it will move to the position referred to in figure 2 and automatically cease downward thrust.
7.4 Use of Slings
For harness use, follow this procedure:
- Apply the harness (1) to the patient or disabled person. (Drawings are indicative for lying or sitting patients).
- Lower the lift arm until it reaches the desired level.
- Attach the harness (1) to the harness support barbell hooks (2) and lift the patient.
- Before lifting, adapt the harness (1) to the patient's needs by choosing the appropriate color-coded buttonholes (3) for attachment to the hooks. A different color scheme for the attachment rings (head side and leg side) will result in a different patient inclination and position when lifted.
Open the lift base: The base spread is operated by a special pedal system at the back. Press pedal (A) to open, press pedal (B) to close.
8 ROUTINE MAINTENANCE
The lifter requires ordinary maintenance like any product to remain in perfect condition. Daily remove food leftovers, hair, and dust using a domestic vacuum cleaner. The following table outlines recommended maintenance frequencies.
