Product Introduction

The Shelly BLU Button 1 is a compact Bluetooth button designed to easily activate and deactivate any device or scene with a single click. It offers advanced features for smart home automation.

Device Components:

A: Button: The primary input for user interaction.
B: LED indication ring: Provides visual feedback on device status.
C: Key ring bracket: Allows for attachment to keychains.
D: Buzzer: Emits audible alerts or confirmations.
E: Back cover: Houses the battery and provides access for replacement.

Installation Instructions

CAUTION! Keep the device away from liquids and moisture. Do not use in high humidity environments.

CAUTION! The device can be connected wirelessly and control electric circuits and appliances. Proceed with caution. Irresponsible use may lead to malfunction, danger to life, or violation of law.

First Steps

The Shelly BLU Button 1 comes ready to use with the battery installed. If pressing the button does not trigger a light indication or a beep, you may need to insert a battery. Refer to the 'Replacing the battery' section.

Using Shelly BLU Button 1

Pressing the button initiates signal transmission for one second, compliant with the BT Home format. Learn more at https://bthome.io.

The Shelly BLU Button 1 features advanced security and supports encrypted mode (AES encryption, CCM mode).

It supports multi-click actions: single, double, triple, and long press. The LED indicator and buzzer will provide feedback corresponding to the number of presses.

To pair the Shelly BLU Button 1 with another Bluetooth device, press and hold the device button for 10 seconds. The device will await connection for one minute.

Beacon Mode: If enabled, the device emits beacons every 8 seconds, allowing for discovery and presence detection. This mode also enables remote activation of the device's buzzer for 30 seconds (e.g., to find a lost device).

To restore the device configuration to factory settings, press and hold the button for 30 seconds shortly after inserting the battery.

Initial Inclusion: If you choose to use the device with the Shelly Smart Control mobile application and cloud service, refer to the mobile application guide for connection and control instructions. The Shelly mobile application and cloud service are not mandatory for the device's proper functioning. The device can be used standalone or with various other home automation platforms and protocols.

Replacing the Battery

Follow these steps to replace the battery:

Gently open the back cover using your fingernail, a screwdriver, or another flat object (see Fig. 2, step 1).
Extract the exhausted battery using your fingernail, a screwdriver, or another flat object (see Fig. 2, step 2).
Slide in a new battery, paying attention to polarity (see Fig. 2, step 3). CAUTION! Use only a 3V CR2032 or compatible battery.
Replace the back cover by pressing it onto the device until you hear a click (see Fig. 2, step 4).
