Pack Contents
- 1 x Main body of the bath filler tap
- 2 x Plinths
- 2 x Washers
- 2 x Back nuts
Installation
- Step 1: Place the plinths over the holes in the bath. Ensure that the washers are fitted between the plinths and the bath surface.
- Step 2: Fit the main body of the tap to the bath.
- Step 4: Secure the tap body to the bath using the washer and metal back nut provided, located underneath the bath. Tighten the back nut onto the threaded tails. Connect the hot and cold water supplies to the threaded tails using a 3/4" BSP connector (not supplied). Turn on the mains water supply, allowing water to flow for a few minutes to flush through the system. Check all joints and connections for any leaks.
Operation
The tap features separate controls for hot and cold water. Turn the handles clockwise to turn the water on.
- Hot Water: Turn handle clockwise to turn on.
- Cold Water: Turn handle clockwise to turn on.
Maintenance - Valve Cleaning
- Step 1: Remove the decorative cap and loosen the grub screw to detach the handle.
- Step 2: Remove any O-rings. Soak the valve mechanism in a de-scaling solution and then wash it off in clean water. Examine all seals and replace them if necessary. Apply WRAS approved silicon-based grease to all seals.
- Step 3: Replace the valve mechanism into the tap body and tighten it into position. Reattach the handle, tighten the grub screw, and push the decorative cap back into place.
General Cleaning
Your fitting has a high-quality finish and should be treated with care to preserve its appearance. Clean all surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Stains can be removed using mild washing-up liquid. Avoid using abrasive cleaning powders, liquids, disinfectants, or products containing alcohol, hydrochloric acid, or phosphoric acid, as these can damage the surface.
Troubleshooting
Symptom | Cause | Remedy |
---|---|---|
No flow or low flow rate | Partially closed isolation valve. Instantaneous water heater cycles on and off as flow rate or pressure is too low. | Open isolation valve. Increase water flow rate or pressure through the system. |
Water dripping from taps | Head of water is below the minimum distance required (2 meters minimum required). Hot or cold water being drawn off elsewhere, causing pressure changes or instantaneous boiler temperature changes. Air lock or partial blockage in the supply pipe work. | Do not use other water outlets when using the taps. Flush through pipe work to ensure removal of debris and any air locks. |
Taps do not turn on | This is normal for a short time after using the taps, caused by capillary action and water build-up in the tap body. If water continues to drip, it may be due to the ceramic disc valves. Closed isolation valve. Mains water supply turned off. | Remove valves and clean, refer to 'Maintenance' section before starting any maintenance. Open isolation valve. Turn on mains water supply. |
