LED Diagnostics: SAFLOK and Confidant RFID Locks

A guide to LED diagnostic codes for SAFLOK MT, XT (adese), 79RT, Quantum & Confidant RFID Electronic Locks

Introduction

This guide helps diagnose and troubleshoot specific LED conditions for SAFLOK MT, XT (adese), 79RT, Quantum, and Confidant RFID style electronic locks. These locks offer extensive diagnostics capabilities to aid in maintenance and operation. There are 12 LED diagnostic codes available.

Code: Green light flashes for 4 seconds

When: Keycard is used.

Diagnosis:

  • Lock is functioning normally; turn lever to open door.

Visual Representation: Lock LED and keycard LED show green flashing.

Code: Yellow light flashes rapidly 8 times

When: Keycard is used.

Diagnosis:

  • Key could be expired, make new key.
  • Lock may be in electronic lock-out mode, use ELO key and remove lock-out.

Visual Representation: Lock LED and keycard LED show rapid yellow flashing.

Code: Yellow light flashes slowly 12 times

When: Keycard is used.

Diagnosis:

  • Lock is in privacy mode (dead bolted), use Emergency key to open the door.
  • Check for proper cam position.

Visual Representation: Lock LED and keycard LED show slow yellow flashing.

Code: Yellow light flashes once (1x)

When: Keycard is used.

Diagnosis:

  • Lock or key is not programmed for hotel, reprogram lock or make new key.

Visual Representation: Lock LED and keycard LED show single yellow flash.

Code: Yellow light flashes twice (2x)

When: Keycard is used.

Diagnosis:

  • Key is an old key or wrong key for the room, remake key.

Visual Representation: Lock LED and keycard LED show double yellow flash.

Code: Yellow and red lights flash 4 times (together)

When: Keycard is used.

Diagnosis:

  • Lock cannot read all the information on the key, key may be damaged or not properly encoded.
  • 1. Try using key in the lock again make sure key is being used properly.
  • 2. Lock may need to be cleaned (use cleaning card in lock).
  • 3. Try making a new keycard and use new keycard in the lock.

Visual Representation: Lock LED and keycard LED show yellow and red flashing together 4 times.

Code: Red light flashes twice (2x)

When: Keycard is used.

Diagnosis:

  • Lock can not read any information from the key.
  • 1. Try using key in the lock again make sure key is being used properly.
  • 2. Lock may need to be cleaned (use cleaning card in lock).
  • 3. Try making a new keycard and use new keycard in the lock.

Visual Representation: Lock LED and keycard LED show double red flash.

Code: Red and green lights flash together for 4 seconds

When: Keycard is used (lock will still open).

Diagnosis:

  • Lock's time and date need to be updated.

Visual Representation: Lock LED and keycard LED show red and green flashing together for 4 seconds.

Code: Red and yellow lights flash together for 6 seconds

When: Keycard is used (door will not open, it is in privacy mode).

Diagnosis:

  • Lock's time and date need to be updated.

Visual Representation: Lock LED and keycard LED show red and yellow flashing together for 6 seconds.

Code: Green and red lights flash alternately for 4 seconds

When: Keycard is used.

Diagnosis:

  • Lock's batteries need to be changed.

Visual Representation: Lock LED and keycard LED show alternating green and red flashes for 4 seconds.

Code: Yellow and red lights flash alternately for 6 seconds

When: Keycard is used (door will not open).

Diagnosis:

  • Lock's batteries must be changed.

Visual Representation: Lock LED and keycard LED show alternating yellow and red flashes for 6 seconds.

Code: Red light flash once (1x) every 30 seconds

When: Keycard is used.

Diagnosis:

  • Key switch is broken, replace lock reader.

Note: Not applicable for Saffire.

Visual Representation: Lock LED shows a single red flash every 30 seconds. Keycard LED shows a red flash.

NFC Locks Only

Code: Red light (solid)

Diagnosis:

  • Dead Battery; replace immediately.

Note: Applies for all NFC locks.

Visual Representation: Lock LED is solid red. Phone indicator is red.

Code: Yellow light flashes once (1x)

Diagnosis:

  • When you "wake up" the lock with your mobile phone.

Note: Applies for all NFC locks.

Visual Representation: Lock LED shows a single yellow flash. Phone indicator is yellow.
