Usage Precautions

In the event of abnormal conditions: In case of smoke or unusual odor, turn off the main power immediately and unplug the power cable. Never attempt to repair the machine yourself. Contact your local dealer or service office.

When ink or liquid contacts skin: Wipe off immediately, wash with soap and water. Seek medical attention if irritation persists.

When ink or liquid contacts eyes: Rinse immediately with plenty of clean water for at least 15 minutes. Remove contact lenses if possible. Seek medical attention if irritation persists.

When ink or liquid is ingested: Gargle with water immediately. Do not induce vomiting. Seek medical attention promptly.

When vapor is inhaled: Move to a well-ventilated area. Seek medical attention if symptoms do not improve.

Ink leak: Turn off the main power immediately and unplug the power cable. Contact your local dealer or service office.

Power supply precautions: Use only the provided power cable. Always hold the plug when removing it. Do not use the machine with dust on the power plug. Prevent metals from touching the power plug blades. Do not damage or modify the power cable. Do not use extension cords or power strips. Do not use a damaged power cable. Do not handle the power plug with wet hands. Plug into a grounded power outlet. Grounding work must be handled by a licensed electrician.

Automatic maintenance function: Do not turn off the main power supply, as this disables the automatic maintenance function, increasing the risk of ejection failures.

Machine specifications: Ensure the power supply meets specifications. Plug the power cable into a nearby outlet and insert the plug securely. Check input voltage and breaker capacity. Connect to separate power sources with independent breakers.

Caution regarding moving parts

Keep body parts and clothing away from moving parts. Tie back long hair.

Do not disassemble or repair

Do not attempt to disassemble or repair this machine. Risk of failure, electric shock, or fire.

Handling the cutter

Avoid touching the cutter blade. Do not shake the cutter holder.

Heater

The heater becomes extremely hot. Do not touch with bare hands.

Other usage precautions

Keep children away from the machine.

Do not pull the media when the clamp lever is lowered. This may damage the machine.

Media underside: Check if ink transfers to the underside of adjacent media.

Disposing of the product: Contact your local retailer or service agent. For disposal, contact an industrial waste disposal operator or follow local laws and regulations.

Notes on Handling Ink or any Other Liquid Used with the Machine

Read the safety data sheet (SDS) before use: https://mimaki.com/supply/sds/

Handling precautions: Ensure good ventilation. Wear safety glasses, gloves, and a mask. Leaking ink may adhere to skin or get into eyes/mouth.

Ink containers: Do not subject ink containers to strong shock or shaking. Do not attempt to refill ink. Do not disassemble ink containers. Store ink away from children's reach.

Storage: Do not store ink in locations exposed to direct sunlight or in environments with volatile substances. Store in tightly sealed containers in a cool, dark place, no higher than 1 m above the floor.

Ink usage: Store ink where it does not freeze. If moved from a cold to a warm place, let it acclimate for at least three hours. Open containers just before installing and use up quickly.

Restrictions Concerning the Expiration Date of Ink Used in the Machine

Check the expiration date on the ink container. Expired ink may cause ejection failures or alter color tone. While printing is possible even after the expiration date, replacing with new ink or using it up quickly is recommended.

Installation Precautions

General: Do not install near fire. Do not place objects on or near the machine. Do not install in humid or wet locations. Do not install where children may enter.

Ventilation: A ventilation system is required for poorly ventilated or sealed areas. Ensure extractor outlets comply with local EHS guidelines and that shutoff valves are open during use.

Environment: Do not install in dusty or drafty locations. Avoid unstable locations or those subject to vibration. Do not install in direct sunlight or locations with sudden temperature changes. Avoid locations with excessive noise or where photographic fixing agents or volatile substances are present.

Operating environment: 20 to 30 °C (68 to 86 °F), 35 to 65 %RH. Accuracy guaranteed between 20 to 25 °C (68 to 77 °F).
