PRIOR TO USING, PLEASE READ INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY
Prior to Each Use
Steam Pipe
Remove the lid counterweight and check from the inside part of the lid that the steam pipe orifice is completely clean. Otherwise, clean using a thin rod (Figure 1).
Pressure Release Valve
Check that it functions correctly by pressing the valve bolt with a rod, from the inside part of the lid. If it moves, then it is correct (Figure 2).
Fill Levels
- For safety reasons, the maximum filling capacity of the pressure cooker is 2/3 of its real capacity.
- When cooking starchy foods, which produce foam (such as chick peas, lentils, pasta, rice or vegetables), fill the pressure cooker to no more than 1/2 of its real capacity to avoid obstruction of the aforementioned safety valves.
- The minimum amount of liquid to be used in the pressure cooker is 1/4 litre.

Operation and Safety Diagrams
The following diagrams illustrate key operations and safety features:
Safety Checks
- Figure A: Illustrates steam escaping from the counterweight, indicating normal operation.
- Figure B: Shows the pressure release valve activating, which occurs when excess pressure is generated, potentially due to an obstructed steam pipe.
- Figure C: Depicts the lid window allowing the gasket to expand, releasing steam if internal safety devices become obstructed.
Opening the Pressure Cooker
- Figure D: Shows the lid with indicators for 'open' and 'closed' positions.
- Figure E: To open, press the "Pushbutton" forwards.
- Figure F: While holding the "Pushbutton", turn the lid clockwise to its limit.
Closing the Pressure Cooker
- Figure G: To close, align the arrow engraved on the lid with the arrow on the "Body handle", ensuring the lid is properly fitted on the body.
- Figure H: Turn the lid clockwise to its limit, with both the "Counterweight" and the "Pushbutton" in the OPEN position.
- Figure I: Move the "Pushbutton" all the way back.
- Figure J: Turn the "Counterweight" to the CLOSED position.
Sealing Gasket Detail
- Figure L: Shows the sealing gasket in its correct position within the lid.
This pressure cooker is equipped with a device that prevents it from gaining pressure if it is not well closed.
2) Advantages of Magefesa Super Rapid Pressure Cooker
- More Speed: Specially designed to cook as quickly as possible, preserving vitamins and flavours.
- More Economy: Rapid cooking saves energy.
- More Safety: Magefesa is recognized for its safety. Use only original spare parts, particularly the "Sealing gasket".
Triple Security System
- Counterweight: Maintains working pressure and allows excess steam to exit (Figure A).
- Pressure Release Valve: Activates if excess pressure is generated. If functioning, the "Steam pipe" may be obstructed. Remove from heat and clean (Figure 1).
- Lid Window: Allows the gasket to expand and release steam if internal safety devices are obstructed (Figure C). If this occurs, seek Technical Assistance.
The "Sealing gasket" is made of special materials for safety. Using non-original gaskets risks cancelling this safety system.
3) How to Use the Pressure Cooker
- Never leave the pressure cooker unattended. Pay attention to steam from the "Counterweight".
- The pressure cooker must contain water to build pressure; it cannot be used with oil alone.
- Never modify safety systems or use imitation "Sealing gaskets" or non-original MAGEFESA spare parts.
- Before opening after cooking, gently move the cooker to avoid scalding injury.
How to Open the Pressure Cooker
- Rotate the "Counterweight" to the OPEN position (Figure D).
- Press the “Pushbutton" forwards (Figure E) and, while holding it pressed, turn the lid clockwise to the limit (Figure F).
How to Close the Pressure Cooker
- Place the lid on the body, aligning the arrow on the lid with the arrow on the "Body handle", ensuring the lid is properly fitted (Figure G).
- Turn the lid clockwise to its limit (Figure H), with both the "Counterweight" and the "Pushbutton" in the OPEN position.
- Move the "Pushbutton" all the way back (Figure I).
- Turn the "Counterweight" to the CLOSED position (Figure J).
This pressure cooker is equipped with a device that prevents it from gaining pressure if it is not well closed.
Cooking with the Pressure Cooker
- Place the pressure cooker over the heat source regulated to maximum.
- Cooking times are calculated from the moment steam starts to come out from the "Counterweight".
- Reduce the heat intensity to a setting that maintains a small amount of steam escaping the "Counterweight".
- It is NORMAL to observe small amounts of steam coming out of the safety valves while cooking.
- If using a gas burner, ensure the flame is adjusted and the cooker is centered to prevent flame extending beyond the base, saving energy and preventing handle/gasket damage.
End of Cooking Time. Opening the Pressure Cooker
- Once cooking is finished, remove the pressure cooker from the heat source, even if switched off.
- DO NOT SINK THE PRESSURE COOKER UNDER WATER.
- Place the "Counterweight" in the OPEN position and leave it until all steam escapes. Then, proceed to open.
- Hold the "Pushbutton" in the OPEN position (Figure D) and turn the lid clockwise as far as possible.
- Never force the lid open.
4) Practical Advices
Energy is saved by leaving the pressure cooker on the stove after switching off the heat source, utilizing residual heat until pressure drops.
If excessive steam escapes from the lid or "Counterweight", the cooker may not be well closed. Reasons include:
- The lid has not reached its full closure limit.
- The "Pushbutton" is forward or the "Counterweight" is in the OPEN position.
- The "Sealing gasket" is not properly placed in the lid.
- The "Sealing gasket" is worn and needs replacement with an original MAGEFESA part.
5) Cleaning & Maintenance
To keep your MAGEFESA pressure cooker in optimal condition, wash each part with warm water after each use, following these instructions:
Lid
- Never put the lid in the dishwasher.
- Clean the "Steam pipe" orifice with a thin rod (Figure 1) and the "Pressure release valve" by pressing the bolt with a rod (Figure 2). Let warm tap water run through both.
Body
- Wash in the sink or dishwasher like other cookware.
- Gold-coloured or bluish spots may appear on the bottom due to mineral deposits from food, additives, or water. These do not affect properties.
- To remove spots, boil water with a small amount of vinegar or lemon juice and rinse thoroughly.
- Never use corrosive or abrasive detergents (bleach, tomato sauce, salt water) for extended periods to avoid corrosion.
Sealing Gasket
- Made of long-lasting Silicone (superior to 500 hours of operation).
- Remove, clean with warm water after each use, and dry before replacing (Figure L).
- Routinely check for signs of wear. Always use original MAGEFESA replacement parts to ensure proper function and prevent steam loss.
- The "Silicone gasket" needs replacement if the cooker loses steam from the lid rim and fails to gain pressure due to frequent use.
ALWAYS USE ORIGINAL MAGEFESA SPARE PARTS. ¡FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY!
6) Orientative Cooking Times
This pressure cooker reduces energy and water consumption compared to conventional systems. Times are counted from when the "Counterweight" starts to release steam and are guidelines that can vary.
