 ORBIT is a p erm a nent m a g net- b a sed 3D tra c king system tha t outp uts 6 degrees- of- freedom inform ation (position & orientation) for each sensor device within its tra cking volum e, with sub m illim eter p recision a nd a ccura cy

2. SENSOR DEVICE c onsists one or m ore tra c king units*
2- 1. TRACKING UNIT is a c onstruc tion where a set of N sensors, suc h a s m a g netom eter a nd inertia l m ea surem ent unit, a re c oup led to a rig id b od y. Ea c h tra c king unit p rod uc es a single, independent 3D point of m easurem ent that corresponds to one com puted output
3. DATA PROCESSING UNIT ( DPU) is a c om p uter tha t runs Om m o Servic e p roc ess tha t m a na g es a nd c om m unic a tes with ha rd wa res a nd p rovid es the c lient API. DPU is supplied by custom ers
4. SENSOR- DEVICEINTERFACEUNIT ( SIU) sa m p les, sync hronizes, a nd tra nsm its sensor device data to the data processing unit via wired or wireless connection.
5. W IRELESS RECEIVER ( d ong le) p lug s into a DPU a nd rec eives wireless d a ta from SIU( s) whic h a re then p roc essed b y Om m o Servic e. Q1: How do I check the firm wa re version of m y ha rdwa re? A: Plug in the ha rd wa re d evic es a nd op en Om m o Firm wa re Up d a ter. At the Ma ster Firm wa re Up d a ter ta b , c lic k "Sc a n Ha rd wa re". This will show a ll the c onnec ted ha rd wa re a nd their firm wa re version. For sp ec ific d eta ils on how to use this a p p a nd up d a te the firm wa re, refer to the Firm wa re Up d a ter Guid e. Note to up d a te the firm wa re to v5004 or hig her, firm wa re_ up d er v2.1.10 or hig her need s to b e used .
