FoodSaver VS3000 Series Quick Start Guide

How to Make a FoodSaver® Bag:

1. Turn the latch to the 'Open' position and open the lid.
2. Place the roll inside the unit's internal storage space as indicated. Pull enough bag material to the edge until it is on top of the sealing strip to make the first seal, then close the lid.
3. Turn the latch to the 'Operate' position.
4. Press the 'Seal' button to seal the open end of the bag. Wait until the 'Seal Indicator Light' turns off.
5. Turn the latch to the 'Open' position, open the lid, and pull enough bag material out to the desired length for what you intend to vacuum seal. Close the lid.
6. Turn the latch to the 'Operate' position. Press the 'Seal' button to make the seal for the next bag. While sealing, you can slide the 'Bag Cutter' across to remove the bag.

How to Vacuum Seal a FoodSaver® Bag:

1. Turn the latch to the 'Open' position and open the lid.
2. Place item(s) in the bag, allowing at least 3 inches (7.62 cm) of space between the contents and the open end of the bag. Place the open end of the bag into the 'Vacuum Channel' (Drip Tray) and close the lid.
3. Turn the latch to the 'Operate' position.
4. Press the 'Vacuum' button to begin the vacuum and sealing process of the open end of the bag. The motor will continue to run until the bag is fully vacuumed, then it will automatically seal.
5. When the 'Seal Indicator Light' turns off, turn the latch to the 'Open' position and open the lid. Remove the bag. Refrigerate, freeze, or store as needed.

How to Vacuum Seal FoodSaver® Zipper Bags:

1. Prepare zipper bags according to the FoodSaver® Accessory Guidelines, which are included with accessory purchases. For zipper bags, ensure no food is placed under the valve and press the zipper closed with a finger while the bag is lying flat on a surface.
2. Turn the latch to the 'Operate' position and pull out the 'Built-in Handheld Sealer' from the appliance.
3. Place the 'Built-in Handheld Sealer' on the zipper bag valve.
4. Press the 'Mode' button (on select models) until the 'Indicator Light' next to 'Dry' is illuminated. Then, press the 'Handheld Button' to vacuum seal.

Zipper bags are safe for pantry and fridge use only.

How to Vacuum Seal FoodSaver® Containers: (sold separately)

1. Prepare the FoodSaver® Preserve & Marinate Container according to the Guidelines, which are included with container purchase.
2. Turn the latch to the 'Operate' position and pull out the 'Built-in Handheld Sealer' from the appliance.
3. Place the 'Built-in Handheld Sealer' on the container valve.
4. Press the 'Mode' button (on select models) until the 'Indicator Light' next to 'Dry' is illuminated. Then, press the 'Handheld Button' to vacuum seal.

To release vacuum and open, turn the knob on the lid to 'Open'.
