How to Make a FoodSaver® Bag
- Move the Easy Lock Latch to the open position. Open the appliance lid and place the roll into the roll holder. [Image: Roll placed in roll holder]
- Lift up the Roll Cutter Bar and place bag material beneath the cutter bar. Pull out enough bag material to hold the item being vacuum sealed, plus 3 inches (7.62 cm). Lower the Roll Cutter Bar and slide the Bag Cutter across the Cutter Bar. [Image: Bag material under cutter bar]
- Insert one end of the bag material across the sealing strip. [Image: Bag material on sealing strip]
- Close the lid and turn the Easy Lock Latch to the Operate position.
- Press the Seal button.
- When the Seal Indicator Light turns off, sealing is complete. Turn the latch to the Open position, lift the lid, and remove the bag.
How to Vacuum Seal a FoodSaver® Bag
- Place item(s) in the bag, allowing at least three inches (7.62 cm) of space between the bag contents and the top of the bag.
- Open the appliance lid and place the open end of the bag into the Vacuum Channel (Drip Tray). [Image: Bag placed in drip tray]
- Close the lid and turn the Easy Lock Latch to the Operate position.
- Press the Vacuum button to begin the vacuum and sealing process. The motor will continue to run until the bag is fully vacuumed, then it will automatically seal. [Image: Vacuum button highlighted]
- When the Seal Indicator Light turns off, turn the Latch to the Open position, lift the lid, and remove the bag. Refrigerate, freeze, or store as needed.
How to Vacuum Seal FoodSaver® Zipper Bags
- Prepare zipper bags according to FoodSaver® Accessory Guidelines. For zipper bags, ensure no food is placed under the valve and press the zipper closed with your finger while the bag is lying flat on a surface.
- Close the lid and turn the Easy Lock Latch to the Operate position.
- Insert one end of the Accessory Hose into the Accessory Port on the Appliance until it clicks. Place the Handheld Sealer on the zipper bag valve.
- Press the Mode Button until the Indicator Light next to 'Dry' is illuminated. Then, press the Vacuum Button. Zipper bags are safe for pantry and fridge use only.
How to Vacuum Seal FoodSaver® Containers (sold separately)
- Prepare the FoodSaver® Preserve & Marinate Container according to the included Guidelines.
- Close the lid and turn the Easy Lock Latch to the Operate position.
- Insert one end of the Accessory Hose into the Accessory Port on the Appliance. Place the Handheld Sealer on the container valve.
- Press the Mode Button until the Indicator Light next to 'Dry' is illuminated. Then, press the Vacuum Button. To release vacuum and open, turn the knob on the lid to the Open position.
