Komfovent DOMEKT: Residential Ventilation Units
The Komfovent DOMEKT series offers advanced ventilation solutions for residential spaces, ensuring a healthy and comfortable indoor environment. These units are designed for efficient air exchange, heat recovery, and intelligent control.
System Components and Functionality
A complete ventilation system comprises several key components:
- Airflow control dampers: Used for balancing the system to ensure even air distribution throughout the rooms.
- Ductwork: Distributes airflow within the building.
- Air diffusers: Introduce fresh air and extract stale air from the rooms.
- Air shut-off dampers: Protect the ventilation system from drafts and heat loss when ventilation is stopped.
- Silencers: Significantly reduce the noise generated by the ventilation unit.
- Ventilation unit: The central component that ensures air exchange and maintains a healthy microclimate.
- Control panel: Allows users to manage all ventilation system parameters, including airflow, temperature, and air quality.
- Air quality sensor: Measures air pollution and adjusts ventilation intensity accordingly, ensuring rooms are ventilated only when needed.
Calculating Required Ventilation Capacity
To ensure a comfortable and healthy environment, it's essential to exchange the entire volume of air in your home at least once per hour. The ventilation unit's capacity should approximate the volume of the ventilated rooms.
Example: For a house with a volume of 3m x 10m x 15m = 450 m³, and an air exchange rate of 1 air change per hour (1/h), the required unit capacity is 450 m³/h. The actual capacity should be selected based on factors like the number of occupants and specific needs, as determined by a specialist.
Calculation: Room Volume (m³) x Air Change Rate (h⁻¹) = Unit Capacity (m³/h)
DOMEKT Ventilation Units: Features and Benefits
Komfovent DOMEKT ventilation units are engineered for energy efficiency, ease of use, reliability, and intelligent control.
Energy Saving
Advanced heat exchangers and efficient fans maximize energy performance. The control automation optimizes the system for effective ventilation.
Plug and Play
The integrated automation makes the ventilation units ready for immediate use. Users can select pre-programmed operating algorithms or configure functions according to their specific needs.
Reliability
Constructed with durable materials, including a galvanized steel casing with a double anti-corrosion coating. Units undergo rigorous testing during manufacturing and at independent testing centers.
Smart Control
Achieve minimal energy consumption without compromising comfort through weekly schedules, operating modes, and energy-saving functions. The system can also be controlled via the 'Komfovent Control' mobile application.
Mounting Options
Units are available in vertical, horizontal, or flat configurations, catering to different space requirements and maintenance accessibility.
Quiet Operation
Statically and dynamically balanced fans ensure quiet and harmonious operation. Double-walled construction minimizes noise transmission.
Compact Units
Domekt R 200 V C8: Designed for integration into kitchen cabinets, fitting standard dimensions above cooker hoods. It offers dual functionality: supplying fresh air and extracting stale air while recovering heat and moisture, and extracting kitchen odors and steam via the cooker hood with automatic airflow balancing.
Domekt R 600 H C6M: With its doors and rear panel removed, this unit is only 470 mm wide, making it easy to transport through standard attic hatches or narrow staircases.
Domekt R 150 F C8, Domekt R 300 F C8: These flat units have a height of only 280 mm, making them ideal for installation above suspended ceilings.
Types of Heat Exchangers
The heat exchanger is a crucial part of the ventilation unit, facilitating heat exchange between the outgoing stale air and the incoming fresh air.
Rotary Heat Exchanger
- Available in standard (condensation) or entalpic-sorbic types.
- Recovers up to 90% of heat.
- Effective even at outdoor temperatures of -30 °C.
- Does not freeze under normal indoor air conditions.
- Transfers some moisture back into the rooms during winter. Standard (condensation) exchangers transfer up to 60% of moisture, while entalpic-sorbic exchangers transfer up to 90%.
- Helps reduce cooling costs in summer.
- Does not require condensate drainage.
Counterflow Plate Heat Exchanger
- Available in standard (condensation) or entalpic-diffusive types.
- Recovers up to 92% of heat.
- Operates down to -30 °C (with a pre-heater).
- Entalpic-diffusive exchangers can transfer up to 80% of moisture back into rooms during winter.
- Requires condensate drainage.
- Helps reduce cooling costs in summer.
Diagrams illustrating the working principles of rotary and plate heat exchangers are available.
Diagrams showing the energy recovery of different heat exchangers based on summer and winter conditions are available.
Humidity Balance with Heat Exchangers
Entalpic-sorbic rotary heat exchanger: Utilizes a zeolite coating to effectively manage indoor air humidity. It achieves up to 90% moisture recovery and retention. In winter, this reduces the need for humidifiers, and in summer, it lowers air conditioning costs. The principle involves selective adsorption and molecular attraction: moisture molecules from the outgoing air adhere to the zeolite coating, and drier incoming air in winter absorbs these molecules.
Entalpic-diffusive plate heat exchanger: Offers slightly lower moisture recovery and retention efficiency (up to 80%) compared to the entalpic-sorbic rotary type. However, it significantly reduces the need for humidification and dehumidification. Its operating principle involves a patented membrane that transfers moisture from the outgoing air to the incoming air in winter, and vice versa in summer, without allowing air to pass through.
Smart Automation C6M, C8
The intuitive user interface allows for easy operation of the ventilation units. The C6M and C8 automation systems are designed for user-friendliness, enabling users to manage the entire ventilation system with simple controls. Pre-programmed operating modes cater to various conditions.
For more economical operation and enhanced comfort, the automatic air quality control selects the most suitable operating mode. Experienced users can further customize settings for specific needs, including:
- Airflow control modes: CAV/VAV/DCV*
- Intensity control based on air quality, CO₂, or humidity sensors.
Operating Modes
- 8 operating modes.
- Advanced energy-saving modes.
- Automatic air quality control.
- Extended weekly scheduling.
Energy Meters
- Real-time energy consumption indicator.
- Ability to monitor unit energy usage.
- Efficiency meter.
'Komfovent Control' App
This cloud-based application allows for remote control of units equipped with C6M and C8 automation. The user-friendly interface provides intuitive navigation and access to all control functions and parameter monitoring, similar to the control panel. The app is available for download on Google Play, the App Store, and Huawei AppGallery.
Control Options
- 'Komfovent Control' app
- Control panel
- Internet server
- BACnet and Modbus communication protocols
Air Quality Function
The air quality function helps save electricity by ventilating only when necessary. When indoor air quality is good, the unit's fans operate at the lowest speed. If excess humidity needs to be removed, the ventilation intensity automatically increases. The unit's control panel or separate sensors can be used to measure air quality or humidity.
- Control panel with integrated humidity and temperature sensor
- Duct humidity or air quality sensor
- Room humidity or air quality sensor
