Important Safeguards
- Connect the steam iron only with a correctly installed power point (220-240V). Ensure that the voltage of your steam iron matches the voltage of your power supply.
- Exercise special attention when the appliance is used by or near children.
- Unplug the appliance even during short-term absences.
- Do not use the dry steam iron if the appliance, its cable, or the plug are damaged.
- Do not immerse the steam iron into water or any other liquid.
- Keep the cable away from the hot steam plate.
- Allow the steam iron to cool down completely before storing.
- Always keep the instruction manual. If the steam iron is given away to a third party, the instruction manual must be handed over as well.
- Note: Before first use, test with an old tissue to check if the steam plate and water tank are clean. Some parts may be slightly greased, which can cause smoke during the first use. This should stop after a few moments.
Before Use
Button steam / steam dry
The steam/steam dry button (6) must always be in the "0" position before filling water into the water tank and/or when the steam iron is disconnected from the main power supply. Otherwise, water may leak from the soleplate.
Remark: For steam level selection, please refer to the "Dry / Steam Function" section.
Remove the protection film from the steam plate before first use.
Use
You can use your steam iron with usual tap water. If the water hardness exceeds 17° dH, distilled or demineralized water should be used to prolong the steam iron's lifespan.
Fill in water tank (for steam ironing)
Unplug the appliance and turn the steam control knob (3) to the "0" position. Fill water into the tank, ensuring not to exceed the maximum marking when the steam iron is placed horizontally. Close the lid securely. Connect the steam iron to a correctly installed power point.
Temperature control
Place the steam iron upright and select the desired temperature using the temperature control (4). Pay attention to the care symbols on the textiles:
- Chemical fibres/synthetic
- Natural fibres/silk/wool
- Natural fibres/cotton/linen
Sort your laundry according to fabric type and the corresponding steam temperature. Iron delicate fabrics at a lower steam temperature first, as the steam iron heats up faster than it cools down.
The pilot light (11) indicates that the steam iron is heating up. Once the pilot light turns off, the selected temperature has been reached, and you can begin ironing.
Water Leakage Prevention
The temperature control dial (4) must be set to a higher level to facilitate steam ironing. If water drips from the bottom of the soleplate, it indicates that the water is not fully converting into steam due to low soleplate temperature. Increase the soleplate temperature by adjusting the temperature control dial (4) towards the maximum setting until water leakage stops.
Functions
- Anti-Calc
- Water spray
- Anti-drip
To moisten the laundry, press the water spray button (5).
Dry / Steam
You can adjust the steam intensity by turning the steam function knob:
- "0" = Steam dry
- "1" = Medium steam
- "2" = Maximum steam outflow
Burst of steam
To moisten the laundry, press the water spray button (5) fully. Note: Only use the steam burst button when the steam iron has reached the steam or maximum temperature. Do not press this button more than 3 times consecutively. Follow the water leakage prevention procedure if water drops emerge from the soleplate.
Keeping/Cleaning/Care
Switch the steam iron off (set the temperature control (4) to minimum temperature as marked on the water tank) and unplug it. Place the steam iron upright and allow it to cool down completely. Empty the water tank.
Remove residues from the steam soleplate using a vinegar-water solution. Wipe the cabinet with a damp cloth and then dry it thoroughly.
Automatic electricity interruption for security
If the installed thermostat malfunctions, the power supply will automatically cut off to prevent the steam iron from overheating. In such cases, the steam iron must be repaired by an authorized service center.
Cleaning/Care (Monthly Maintenance)
To increase the steam iron's lifespan, monthly cleaning is recommended based on usage frequency.
- Set the steam control knob (3) to the no-steam position.
- Fill the water tank halfway with water.
- Place the steam iron upright.
- Set the thermostat (4) to the "max" position and connect the steam iron to the mains.
- Wait until the steam iron is completely hot (the pilot light switches off).
- Unplug the steam iron.
- Hold the steam iron horizontally over a washbasin.
- Hot water and steam will be released from the appliance. Any residues, such as chalk deposits, should be flushed out with the released water.
- Simulate the ironing motion until the water tank is almost empty.
- Set the steam function to the no-steam position and connect the steam iron to the mains. Place it upright.
- Set the thermostat (4) to the "max" position. Allow the steam iron to heat up again. The remaining water in the tank will vaporize and exit the appliance.
- It is recommended to move the steam iron over an old tissue during this process.
