Schneider Electric Easy PDU Switched Rack Power Distribution Unit Installation
This document provides installation information for your Easy PDU. Please read the instructions carefully.
Safety Information
DANGER
HAZARD OF ELECTRIC SHOCK, EXPLOSION, OR ARC FLASH
- The Rack PDU is intended for installation and operation by skilled persons in a controlled location.
- Do not operate the Rack PDU with covers removed.
- This Rack PDU is for indoor use only.
- Do not install where excessive moisture or heat is present.
- Never install wiring, equipment, or Rack PDUs during a lightning storm.
- Plug into a grounded power outlet only. The outlet must be connected to appropriate branch circuit/mains protection (fuse or circuit breaker).
- Do not use extension cords or adapters.
- If a socket-outlet is not accessible to the equipment, one shall be installed.
- Do not work alone under hazardous conditions.
- Check power cord, plug, and socket for good condition.
- Disconnect from power outlet before installing or connecting equipment to reduce shock risk when grounding cannot be verified. Reconnect only after all connections are made.
- Do not handle metallic connectors before power is removed.
- Use one hand when connecting/disconnecting signal cables to avoid shock from touching two surfaces with different grounds.
- This unit has no user-serviceable parts. Repairs must be performed by factory-trained service personnel.
High leakage current from attached loads is possible. If total leakage current exceeds 3.5 mA, attach a ground wire from the Rack PDU supplementary ground (Eng #10 thread) to a reliable ground in your facility before energizing the Rack PDU.
Failure to follow these instructions will result in death or serious injury.
WARNING
FIRE HAZARD
This equipment should be connected to a single-outlet dedicated circuit protected by a circuit breaker or fuse with the same current rating as the Rack PDU. The plug or inlet serves as the disconnect. Ensure the utility power outlet is close to the Rack PDU and readily accessible.
Failure to follow these instructions can result in death or serious injury.
Installation
Option 1 - Vertical Installation with Brackets
- Install the two (2) brackets to the Rack PDU using the provided eight (8) M3 x 12 screws.
- Install the PDU to the rack using the provided four (4) M5 x10 mm self-tapping screws.

Option 2 - Toolless Mounting Pegs
The mounting pegs are pre-installed. Slide both pegs into the rack's rear panel channel. Push the PDU downward until it locks into position.
NOTE: Ensure the power cord plug is accessible and connected to a grounded outlet.
