Firmware Update Preparation
microSD Card Preparation
To perform a firmware update, you need a commercially available microSD card that has been formatted (initialized) with the FTX-1 series. Refer to the Operation Manual's section on "Using a microSD Card" for compatible cards and formatting methods.
Downloading Firmware and Copying to microSD Card
- Download the compressed firmware file "FTX-1_JPN_Firmware_Update_xxxxxx.zip" from the YAESU website.
- Extract the downloaded compressed file. For Windows, right-click the downloaded file and select "Extract All". The firmware files (with the .SFL extension) will be located in the "FTX-1_JPN_Firmware_Update_xxxxXXX" folder created during extraction. Firmware file names are as follows:
- DISPLAY: FTX-1_DISPLAY_Vxxxx.SFL
- MAIN: FTX-1_MAIN_Vxxxx.SFL
- DSP: FTX-1_IFDSP_Vxxxx.SFL
- SDR: FTX-1_SDR_Vxxxx.SFL
- SPA-1: SPA-1_CTRL_Vxxxx.SFL
- Copy the firmware files (SFL extension) directly to the root of the "FTX-1" folder on the microSD card. Copying files to any other folder will prevent them from being recognized and the update from occurring.
Folder Structure on microSD Card:
