Introduction
The DP C10.UART model complies with the EN15194 standard for electric bicycles. Its casing is made of polycarbonate with liquid crystal display made of tempered polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA).

Operating Overview
The system uses a bidirectional serial communication protocol via a 5-button external keypad.
- Speed Display: Real-time speed (SPEED), maximum speed (MAXS), and average speed (AVG) are displayed.
- Units: Users can choose between kilometers (km) and miles (mile).
- Intelligent Battery Level Indicator: An optimization algorithm ensures a stable battery level display, avoiding the common issue of fluctuating battery indicators.
- Backlight Levels: 5 levels of display backlight are available, with level 1 being the darkest and level 5 the brightest.
- Power Levels: 6 power assist levels (0 to 5) can be set.
- Distance Display: Maximum displayed distance is 99999. Trip distance (TRIP) and total distance (TOTAL) can be displayed.
- Intelligent Display: Shows motor power (W), remaining range, and energy consumption (calories, C).
- Error Messages: Displays error messages when faults occur.
- Walk Assistance: Provides assistance for walking.

Display Operation Area
The display shows various information including:
- Speed Modes: Average speed (AVG km/h), maximum speed (MAXS km/h).
- Speed Units: Displays speed in km/h or mph.
- Battery Level: A 10-segment indicator shows battery charge. The voltage represented by each segment can be personalized.
- Headlight Indicator: Appears only when headlights or backlight are on.
- Error Display: An icon appears when an error is detected.
- Maintenance Warning: A symbol appears when maintenance is required (e.g., exceeding set distance or charge cycles). This can be disabled.
- Level Indicator: Levels 1-5 are displayed. If no numeric display is shown, it indicates no motor assistance.
- Distance Modes: Displays maximum speed (MXA), average speed (AVG), trip distance (TRIP), total distance (TOTAL), remaining range (RANGE), motor power (W), and energy consumption.

Operation
- ON/OFF Switch: Press and hold the power button for 2 seconds to turn the display on or off. The display will automatically turn off after 5 minutes of inactivity (this setting is adjustable).
- Assist Mode Selection: In manual mode, press the '+' or '-' buttons to select the desired assist level (1 is the lowest, 5 is the highest). Level 1 is the default when the display is on. If no numeric display is shown, there is no power assistance.
- Switching Between Distance and Speed Modes: Briefly press the 'i' button to cycle through distance and speed information (TRIP, TOTAL, MAXS, AVG, RANGE, C).
- Headlight/Display Backlight Switch: Press and hold the headlight button for 2 seconds to turn on the display backlight, front light, and rear light. Press again for 2 seconds to turn them off. There are 5 adjustable brightness levels.
- Walk Assistance: Press and hold the power button for 2 seconds to enter walk assist mode, indicated by the 'WALK' symbol. Releasing the button exits this mode.
- Battery Status: The battery level is indicated by illuminated segments. If all segments are off and the border blinks, the battery needs immediate charging.
Battery Charging: Connect the USB cable to the display's USB port. The display will turn on and begin charging. Maximum charging voltage is 5V, and maximum charging current is 500mA.

Preparing Settings
With the display active, press the 'i' button twice (within 0.3 seconds) to enter the MENU settings. Press the 'i' button twice again (within 0.3 seconds) to return to the main menu.
To set parameters, when the desired parameter flashes, use '+' or '-' to adjust the value. Briefly press 'i' to move to the next parameter. Press 'i' twice (within 0.3 seconds) to exit the submenu. If no operation is performed for 10 seconds, the display returns to the normal riding view.
Data Reset
Press the 'i' button twice (within 0.3 seconds) to enter MENU. The speed field will show 'tC'. Pressing '+' will also display 'y'. All temporary data, such as MAXS, AVG, and TRIP distance, can be cleared.
Data is not cleared if the light detection function is set to 0 or is off.
Switch km/mile
When the speed field shows 'S7', press '+' or '-' to switch between km/h and mph, or to set km or miles. After this setting, briefly press 'i' (within 0.3 seconds) to access the light sensitivity setting.
Light Sensitivity
When the speed field shows 'bL0', use '+' or '-' to select a value between 0 and 5. A higher value means greater light sensitivity. After this setting, briefly press 'i' (within 0.3 seconds) to access the backlight brightness setting.
Display Backlight
When the speed field shows 'bL1', press '+' or '-' to select a value between 1 and 5. Level 1 is the lowest brightness, and level 5 is the maximum brightness. After this setting, briefly press 'i' (within 0.3 seconds) to access the auto power off time setting.
Automatic Power Off Time
When the speed field shows 'OFF', press '+' or '-' to select a value between 1 and 9. These numbers indicate the minutes until the display automatically powers off. After this setting, briefly press 'i' (within 0.3 seconds) to access the maintenance warning setting.
Maintenance Warning Settings
When the speed field shows 'nnA', press '+' or '-' to select 0 (disable) or 1 (enable). After this setting, briefly press 'i' (within 0.3 seconds) to access the password entry setting.
The display will prompt for maintenance based on accumulated distance and battery charge cycles.
- If total accumulated distance exceeds 5,000 km (customizable), the display shows 'SERVICE'. The distance indicator will flash for 4 seconds upon startup.
- If the number of battery charge cycles exceeds 100 (customizable), the display shows 'SERVICE'. The battery indicator will flash for 4 seconds upon startup.
- The maintenance warning function can be disabled by setting (MA) to 0.
Wheel Size Setting
When the speed field shows 'Wd', you can set the wheel size. Measurements are in inches. An incorrect wheel diameter can lead to abnormal speed indications. After this setting, briefly press 'i' (within 0.3 seconds) to access the speed limit setting. If wheel size needs to be reset, use BESST and follow the instructions.
Speed Indication
When the speed field shows 'SPL', the distance field shows the speed limit. Press 'i' (within 0.3 seconds) to access the battery communication menu. To reset the speed limit, use BESST and follow the instructions.
Battery Communication Indication
When the speed field shows 'b01' and the distance field shows the speed limit, press 'i' (within 0.3 seconds) to view other information sequentially. After this setting, press 'i' twice (within 0.3 seconds) to exit the menu.
Information is displayed only when communication between the battery and controller is established; otherwise, '- - - -' is shown.

Error Code Indication
Error codes E00-E09 indicate stored error codes, with a maximum of 10 screens. E00 shows the latest error. The DP C10.UART can display e-bike faults. When a fault occurs, an icon appears, and one of the following error codes is displayed in the speed field:

Note: Error code 10 may appear when the e-bike has been running for a long time, indicating the motor temperature has reached its protection limit. Stop the e-bike to allow the temperature to decrease. Continued use may cause the motor to automatically cut power.

Suzhou Bafang Motor Science-Technology Co., Ltd (BAFANG) warrants products purchased from BAFANG or its resellers against defects in material or workmanship. This applies to complete BAFANG drive systems; individual BAFANG components are not covered.
Warranty Period: 30 months for motors, 18 months for controllers, displays, sensors, and other electrical components, starting from the factory dispatch date.
Exclusions from Warranty:
- Damage, faults, or losses due to refitting, negligence, improper maintenance, commercial use, or accidents.
- Damage, faults, or losses due to transportation by the buyer.
- Damage, faults, or losses caused by unauthorized installation, adjustment, or repair.
- Damage, faults, or losses not caused by material or manufacturing defects but by misuse.
- External damage affecting product operation.
- Damage, faults, or losses caused by repairs or installations performed by unauthorized service centers or dealers.
- Damage, faults, or losses due to normal wear and tear.
BAFANG reserves the right to repair or replace faulty components. If bicycle manufacturers or dealers encounter quality issues with BAFANG products, they should contact BAFANG customer service with the order and serial numbers. BAFANG will provide free repair or replacement for in-warranty products. For out-of-warranty repairs, BAFANG will charge for components, labor, and shipping.
