If the device does not function correctly, take it to the nearest authorized service center.

Recycle

Always return used electronic products, batteries, and packaging materials to designated collection points. This helps prevent uncontrolled waste disposal and promotes material recycling. Electrical and electronic products contain much valuable material, including metals (such as copper, aluminum, steel, and magnesium) and precious metals (such as gold, silver, and palladium). All device materials can be recovered as materials and energy.

You can also recycle the box and user guides in your region's recycling system. By cooperating and delivering all these materials to one of the available collection sites, you are contributing to environmental care and the health of future generations.

All electrical and electronic products, and batteries may contain recyclable metals and other potentially hazardous substances and must be taken to corresponding collection points after their useful life. Do not force open the battery or similar materials under any circumstances. Do not dispose of these products as unsorted municipal waste, as this may cause pollution or health risks. All HMD Global products comply with the industry's current international production standards and all requirements established by competent government agencies.

Symbol of the Crossed-out Wheeled Bin

The symbol of the crossed-out wheeled bin on the product, battery, information material, or packaging reminds you that all electrical and electronic products and batteries must be taken to separate collection points at the end of their useful life. Remember to delete personal data from the device first. Do not dispose of these products with other household waste: recycle them. To find out about the nearest recycling point, consult local waste management authorities or read about HMD's return program and availability in your country at www.hmd.com/phones/support/topics/recycle.

Information about the Battery and Charger

Battery and Charger Information: To find out if the phone's battery can be removed or not, consult the printed guide.

Devices with a removable battery: Use the device only with an original rechargeable battery. The battery can be charged and discharged hundreds of times, but it will eventually wear out. When talk and standby times are significantly shorter than normal, replace the battery.

Devices with a non-removable battery: Do not attempt to remove the battery, as this may damage the device. The battery can be charged and discharged hundreds of times, but it will eventually wear out. When talk and standby times are significantly reduced, take the device to the nearest authorized service center to replace the battery.

Charge the device with a compatible charger. The plug type of the charger may vary. The charging time may vary depending on the device's capacity.

Battery and Charger Safety Information

Once the device is charged, unplug the charger from the device and the power outlet. Note that continuous charging should not exceed 12 hours. If left unused, a fully charged battery may lose its charge over time.

Extreme temperatures reduce battery capacity and lifespan. For optimal performance, always keep the battery between 15°C and 25°C (59°F and 77°F). A device with a cold or hot battery may not function temporarily. Note that the battery may drain quickly when exposed to cold temperatures and may lose so much power that the phone shuts down in minutes. When outdoors in cold temperatures, keep the phone warm.

Obey local regulations. Recycle whenever possible. Do not dispose of with household waste.

Do not expose the battery to extremely low atmospheric pressures or leave it at extremely high temperatures (e.g., by discarding it in a fire), as this may cause the battery to explode or leak flammable liquids or gases.

Do not disassemble, cut, crush, bend, puncture, or otherwise damage the battery. If the battery leaks, avoid contact of the liquid with skin or eyes. If this happens, rinse the affected areas immediately with water or seek medical assistance. Do not modify the battery; do not attempt to insert foreign objects into it, or immerse or expose it to water or other liquids. Batteries can explode if damaged.

Use the battery and charger only for their intended purposes. The use of unapproved batteries, incompatible chargers, or improper use of these may pose a risk of fire, explosion, or other danger, and will void all approvals or warranties. If you believe the battery or charger is damaged, take it to a service center or your phone's dealer before continuing to use them. Never use a damaged charger or battery.

Use the charger indoors only. Do not charge the device during an electrical storm. When the charger is not included in the sales package, charge the device using the data cable (included) and a USB power adapter (may be sold separately). You can charge the device with cables and power adapters from other providers that are compatible with USB 2.0 or later, comply with applicable national regulations and international and regional safety standards. Other adapters may not comply with applicable safety standards, and charging with such adapters could pose a risk of property loss or personal injury.

To disconnect a charger or accessory, hold and pull the plug, not the cable.

Additionally, the following applies if the device has a removable battery:

  • Always switch off the device and unplug the charger before removing covers or the battery.
  • When a metallic object touches the battery's metal contacts, accidental short circuits can occur. This can damage the battery or the other object.

Young Children

The device and its accessories are not toys. They may contain small parts. Keep them out of the reach of young children.

Medical Devices

The operation of radio-transmitting equipment, including wireless phones, may interfere with the function of inadequately shielded medical devices. Consult your doctor or the medical device manufacturer to determine if it has adequate shielding against external radio energy.

Implanted Medical Devices

To avoid potential interference, manufacturers of implanted medical devices (such as pacemakers, insulin pumps, and neurostimulators) recommend a minimum separation of 15.3 centimeters (6 inches) between a wireless device and the medical device. People who have such devices should follow these guidelines:

  • Always keep the wireless device more than 15.3 centimeters (6 inches) away from the medical device.
  • Do not carry the wireless device in a breast pocket.
  • Hold the wireless device to the ear opposite the medical device.
  • Switch off the wireless device if there is any reason to suspect interference.
  • Follow the manufacturer's instructions for the implanted medical device.

If you have questions about using the wireless device with an implanted medical device, consult your healthcare provider.

Protect Your Device from Harmful Content

Your device may be exposed to viruses and other harmful content. Be cautious when opening messages. They may contain malicious software or otherwise be harmful to your device.

Vehicles

Radio signals may affect electronic systems with inadequate shielding or incorrect installation in vehicles. For more information, consult the device manufacturer or your equipment. The device should only be installed in a vehicle by authorized personnel. Defective installation can be dangerous and void the warranty. Regularly check that all wireless equipment in your vehicle is correctly mounted and functioning properly. Do not store or transport flammable or explosive materials in the same compartment intended for the device, its parts, or accessories. Do not place the device or accessories in the airbag deployment area.

Potentially Explosive Atmospheres

Switch off the device in potentially explosive environments, for example, near gasoline pumps. Sparks can cause explosions or fires that cause injury or death. Pay attention to restrictions in areas with fuel, chemical plants, or where explosions occur. Areas with potentially explosive atmospheres may not be clearly marked. These are areas where you are generally advised to turn off the engine, under the cover of boats, chemical transfer or storage facilities, and areas where the air contains chemicals or particles. Consult manufacturers of vehicles using liquefied petroleum gas (such as propane or butane) to see if this device can be used safely in their vicinity.

Certification Information

This mobile device complies with radio wave exposure standards. The mobile device is a radio transmitter and receiver. It is designed not to exceed the limits for radio wave exposure (radiofrequency electromagnetic fields), recommended by the international standards of the independent scientific organization ICNIRP. These standards incorporate considerable safety margins designed to ensure the protection of all people, regardless of their age or health status. These exposure standards are based on the Specific Absorption Rate (SAR), which is an expression of the amount of radiofrequency (RF) energy deposited in the head or body when the device transmits. The ICNIRP SAR limit for mobile devices is 2.0 W/kg averaged over 10 grams of body tissue.

SAR tests are carried out with the device in standard operating positions, transmitting at the highest certified power level in all tested frequency bands.

This device complies with radiofrequency exposure requirements when used against the head or when used at a minimum distance of 5/8 inches (1.5 centimeters) from the body. When using a case, belt clip, or other form of support for the device, use only accessories that do not contain metal and that keep the device at the indicated distance from the body.

To send data or messages, a good network connection is required. Sending may be suspended until a connection is available. Follow the separation distance instructions until the transmission is complete.

During general use, SAR values are normally well below the values mentioned above. This is because, for system efficiency and to minimize network interference, the mobile device's operating energy automatically decreases when maximum energy is not needed for a call. Lower energy means a lower SAR value.

Device models have different versions and more than one value. Design and component changes may occur over time, and some of them may affect SAR values.

For more information, visit www.sar-tick.com. Please note that mobile devices may emit transmissions even when you are not making a voice call.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has indicated that current scientific information does not indicate the need for any special precautions when using mobile devices. If you are interested in reducing exposure, it is recommended that you limit use or use a hands-free kit to keep the device away from your head and body. For more information, explanations, and discussions on RF exposure, visit the WHO website at www.who.int/health-topics/electromagnetic-fields#tab=tab_1.

See www.hmd.com/sar for the maximum SAR value of the device.
