Location of Controls
Top/Front Controls
The top and front of the unit feature various controls and ports:
- 1. Handle: For carrying the unit.
- 2. CD Compartment: Where CDs are inserted.
- 3. MASTER VOLUME Control: Adjusts the overall volume.
- 4. ECHO + Button: Increases the echo effect.
- 5. MIC VOLUME + Button: Increases microphone volume.

- 15. KEY +/Navigation ▲ Button: Adjusts the musical key upwards.
- 16. Open/Close Tab: For accessing the CD compartment.
- 17. ENTER/Play/Pause Button: Starts playback, pauses, or confirms selections.
- 18. Skip +/Navigation ► Button: Navigates forward or selects next track.
- 19. Record Button: Records vocal performance.
- 20. Mic holders: Slots to hold microphones.
- 21. PROG/REPEAT Button: For programming tracks and repeat functions.
- 22. STOP/PAIR Button: Stops playback or initiates Bluetooth pairing.
- 23. KEY -/Navigation ▼ Button: Adjusts the musical key downwards.
- 24. MIC 2 Jack: Second microphone input.
- 25. MIC 1 Jack: Primary microphone input.
- 26. Speaker: The unit's built-in speaker.
Rear Controls
The rear of the unit includes connection jacks:
- 1. Video Out Jack: For video output to a TV.
- 2. Right Audio Out Jack: For right channel audio output.
- 3. Left Audio Out Jack: For left channel audio output.
- 4. DC In Jack: For connecting the AC adapter.
- 5. Battery Compartment: Holds batteries for DC operation.
Display Controls
The front display indicates the unit's status:
- 1. CDG Indicator: Lights up when a CD+G disc is playing.
- 2. Display: Shows track numbers, modes, and status messages.
- 3. REPEAT Indicator: Shows when repeat mode is active.
- 4. PLAY/PAUSE Indicator: Shows when playback is paused.
- 5. PROGRAM Indicator: Shows when a program is set.
Connection
Connecting Microphones
Connect a microphone into MIC jack 1 or MIC jack 2 (when desired). Do not drop or tap the microphone, as damage to the microphone or speakers may occur. Do not twist the microphone cord, as it will cause damage to the encased wiring.
Connecting the Unit to a TV
To output video, lyrics, and audio to your TV, follow these steps:
- Connect the RCA video cable (Yellow) to the VIDEO OUT jack and the audio cables (White and Red) to the AUDIO OUT jacks located on the back of the Singing Machine.
- Connect the opposite end of the RCA video cable (Yellow) to the VIDEO IN jack and the audio cables (White and Red) to the AUDIO IN on your TV.
This unit can be used with or without a TV, but it is highly recommended to use a TV to utilize all features. Refer to the TV's User Guide for input and display instructions. To see lyrics on the screen, you must use a CD+G disc or MP3+G files.
Connecting to AC Power
Insert the AC power cord into a conveniently located AC outlet having 120V AC, 60Hz. Make all connections before connecting to AC power.
Inserting Batteries
Slide the battery door in the direction of the arrows ➡️ to reveal the battery compartment. Insert eight (8) "C" size alkaline batteries (not included) as indicated on the diagram. Replace the cover tightly before operating.
Battery Precautions: Use only the specified size and type of batteries. Ensure correct polarity when installing. Do not mix battery types or old/new batteries. Remove batteries if the device is not used for a long period. Do not attempt to recharge non-rechargeable batteries. Rechargeable batteries must be removed before charging and charged under adult supervision. Exhausted batteries must be removed. Batteries should not be exposed to excessive heat.
Operation
Connecting to Aux In Jack
Connect an external device using an appropriate 3.5mm audio cable (not included) to the AUX IN jack. This allows audio to be played through the Singing Machine. Skipping files/tracks is not possible when using an external device. It is recommended to set the volume on the auxiliary unit to 1/3 or lower to avoid distortion.
Disco Lights
When the unit is turned on, Light mode 1 is automatically activated, synchronizing lights with sound. Press the LIGHT MODE button for Light mode 2, which displays a light show without sound response. Press the LIGHT MODE button again to turn off the lights.
Playing a CD
- Connect the unit to a TV and press the POWER (ON/OFF) ? button.
- Lift the CD door and insert a CD (standard or MP3+G) ? or CD+G disc onto the center spindle. Close the CD door.
Notes on CD Formats:
- CD+G: Standard format for karaoke discs that displays lyrics on screen.
- MP3+G: Newer format for karaoke music using MP3 file size, displaying lyrics on screen.
- Press the FUNCTION button repeatedly to select the CDG/CD mode. "---" will blink while searching, then the total number of tracks will appear.
- Press the ENTER/PLAY/PAUSE ▶️⏸️ button to start playback. If a CD+G file is playing, the image and lyrics will appear on the TV screen. The CDG indicator lights up when a CDG disc is inserted.
- Adjust the volume to a comfortable level using the MASTER VOLUME control. Note: If connected to a TV or other audio source, adjust the TV's volume control.
- Connect microphone(s) ? and slide the ON/OFF switch on the microphone to the ON position.
- Press the MIC VOLUME + or – button to adjust the volume for both microphones.
- Press the ECHO + or – button to add an echo effect to your voice.
- Adjust the Key using the KEY +/▲ and KEY -/▼ buttons to obtain the best key for the playing track.
- SKIP: Advance or go back one track by pressing the Skip -/Navigation ◄ and Skip +/Navigation ► buttons. You can also skip ahead 10 files/tracks using the SKIP 10+ button.
- REPEAT: Press the PROG/REPEAT button once to repeatedly play the selected song (Repeat indicator blinks). Press a second time to repeatedly play the whole CD (Repeat indicator is solid). Press again to cancel Repeat function.
- PROGRAM: You can program up to 20 tracks for playback in any order. While in Stop mode, press PROG/REPEAT; the Program indicator blinks and "01" appears. Select tracks using Skip/Navigation buttons and press PROG/REPEAT to confirm. Repeat to set up to 20 tracks. Press ENTER/PLAY/PAUSE to start playback.
- Program Notes: Press STOP/PAIR ⏹️? button TWICE to stop and clear the program. "FUL" appears if more than 20 tracks are attempted.
- PAUSE: Press ENTER/PLAY/PAUSE ▶️⏸️ to momentarily pause playback; the PLAY/PAUSE indicator blinks. Press again to resume.
- Press the STOP/PAIR ⏹️? button to stop playback.
- RECORD YOUR VOCAL PERFORMANCE: To record your singing and music, press the RECORD ⏺️ button. Recording begins, and the light around the RECORD button lights solid. Press RECORD ⏺️ again to stop; the light turns off. The recorded audio file saves to the USB drive ?.
- Press the ON/OFF ? button to turn the unit off.
Playing Songs from the USB
- Connect the unit to a TV and press the POWER (ON/OFF) ? button.
- Insert a USB flash drive ? into the USB slot, facing upward.
- Press the FUNCTION button repeatedly to select USB mode. "USb" will appear, followed by the total number of files. It is highly recommended to connect to a TV for USB playback.
- Press the ENTER/PLAY/PAUSE ▶️⏸️ button to start playback. If an MP3+G file is playing, the image and lyrics will appear on the TV screen.
Notes:
- When connected to a TV, you can see selected songs and folders and navigate them using the Navigation buttons.
- Recorded audio files can be selected using Navigation buttons to select the REC folder.
- Adjust the volume using the MASTER VOLUME control. Note: If connected to a TV or other audio source, adjust the TV's volume control.
- Connect microphone(s) ? and slide the ON/OFF switch to ON.
- Press the MIC VOLUME + or – button to adjust microphone volume.
- Press the ECHO + or – button to add an echo effect.
- Adjust the Key using the KEY +/▲ and KEY -/▼ buttons.
- SKIP: Advance or go back one track using Skip -/Navigation ◄ and Skip +/Navigation ►. Skip ahead 10 files/tracks with SKIP 10+.
- REPEAT: Press PROG/REPEAT button once for selected song repeat (indicator blinks rapidly). Press a second time for selected folder repeat (indicator blinks slowly). Press a third time for USB repeat (indicator solid). Press again to cancel.
- PROGRAM: Program up to 20 tracks. While in Stop mode, press PROG/REPEAT; Program indicator blinks, "01" appears. Select tracks with Skip/Navigation buttons and press PROG/REPEAT to confirm. Repeat for up to 20 tracks. Press ENTER/PLAY/PAUSE ▶️⏸️ to start.
- Program Notes: Press STOP/PAIR ⏹️? button TWICE to clear the program. "FUL" appears if more than 20 tracks are attempted.
- PAUSE: Press ENTER/PLAY/PAUSE ▶️⏸️ to momentarily pause playback; the Play/Pause indicator blinks. Press again to resume.
- Press the STOP/PAIR ⏹️? button to stop playback.
- Press the ON/OFF ? button to turn the unit off.
Using a Bluetooth Device
- Connect the unit and press the POWER (ON/OFF) ? button.
- Press the FUNCTION button repeatedly to select Bluetooth mode ("bt" will appear). The unit searches for previously paired devices. If none are found, proceed to the next step. You can press STOP/PAIR ⏹️? to disconnect paired devices.
- On your device, turn on Bluetooth ? and search for a discoverable device. Select "Singing Machine" from the list. Refer to your Bluetooth device's manual for detailed instructions.
- The Bluetooth indicator will light solid, and a chime will sound.
Notes:
- If prompted for a passcode, enter "0000".
- On some devices, select your Bluetooth device as "Use as Audio Device".
- If connection is lost, ensure the distance between devices does not exceed 30 feet/10 meters.
- Start playback from your Bluetooth device. Press ENTER/PLAY/PAUSE ▶️⏸️ to pause.
- Adjust volume using the MASTER VOLUME control on the unit and the volume on your Bluetooth device.
- Connect microphone(s) ? and slide the ON/OFF switch to ON.
- Press the MIC VOLUME + or – button to adjust microphone volume.
- Press the ECHO + or – button to add an echo effect.
- SKIP: Advance or go back one track using Skip -/Navigation ◄ and Skip +/Navigation ►.
- RECORD YOUR VOCAL PERFORMANCE: Press the RECORD ⏺️ button to record singing and music. The RECORD button light turns solid. Press RECORD ⏺️ again to stop. The recording saves to the USB drive ?.
- Press the ON/OFF ? button to turn the unit off.
Using the AUX IN Jack
- Connect the unit and press the POWER (ON/OFF) ? button.
- Connect an external unit to the AUX IN Jack on the front of the unit. This allows audio to play through the Singing Machine.
Notes:
- Set the volume on the auxiliary unit to 1/3 or lower to avoid distortion.
- Skipping files/tracks is not possible with an external device.
- Press the FUNCTION button repeatedly to select AUX IN mode ("AU" will appear).
- Adjust the volume using the MASTER VOLUME control on this unit or your external device's volume control.
- Connect microphone(s) ? and slide the ON/OFF switch to ON.
- Press the MIC VOLUME + or – button to adjust microphone volume.
- Press the ECHO + or – button to add an echo effect.
- RECORD YOUR VOCAL PERFORMANCE: Press the RECORD ⏺️ button to record singing and music. The RECORD button light turns solid. Press RECORD ⏺️ again to stop. The recording saves to the USB drive ?.
- Press the ON/OFF ? button to turn the unit off.
Where to Download MP3+G Files
Helpful Hints
MP3 and CDG files are delivered in a compressed MP3+G.zip file. This file must be unzipped to play karaoke songs from a USB flash drive ?. Follow these steps:
- Connect a USB flash drive ? to your computer.
- Download the MP3+G file from your Digital Locker and save the .zip file to your computer.
- Double-click the .zip file to open it and see the .mp3 and .cdg files.
- Drag and drop the .mp3 and .cdg files to the USB flash drive ?.
- Eject the USB flash drive ? from your computer.
- Turn on the Singing Machine and connect the USB flash drive ?.

To purchase and download karaoke music, visit http://store.singingmachine.com. You will need a USB flash drive ? (not included) to transfer downloads. Follow these steps:
- Go to http://store.singingmachine.com using your internet browser and register.
- Select and purchase karaoke music from the Singing Machine Download Store.
- Download your selected purchases from the Singing Machine Digital Locker to your USB flash drive ?.
- Insert the USB flash drive ? as shown on page E12 and enjoy!
Downloaded songs can also be burned to a blank CDR/CDRW.
Troubleshooting Guide
Should this unit exhibit a problem, check the following before seeking service:
No Power
- Power is not on; press the ON/OFF ? button.
- Confirm the AC adapter is connected securely.
- Connect the unit to a different outlet.
- If using batteries, replace with new ones.
No Sound – General
- MASTER VOLUME is set to minimum; raise volume.
- Correct Function was not selected; select using the FUNCTION button.
- If using an external device, raise its volume.
No Sound – If connected to a TV
- Volume on the TV is muted or too low.
- Correct source (usually AV) was not selected on the TV's menu.
Lyrics do not appear on the TV screen
- If connected to a TV, Video plug is not connected properly (see page E5).
- If connected to a TV, select the correct source on the TV (usually AV).
- The file/track being played is not a track recording with lyrics. Only these files allow lyrics to be viewed on the TV screen.
- Nothing will appear on the TV screen when using Aux In or Bluetooth.
No sound from the microphone
- Ensure the microphone ? is firmly connected to MIC 1 or MIC 2 jack.
- Ensure the Mic's ON/OFF switch is set to ON.
- Ensure the mic's volume is not set too low.
- MASTER VOLUME is set to minimum; raise volume.
File(s) on USB jack not playing
- The file is corrupted; replace the file.
- The file is not in a format this unit will play.
- The connected USB device ? is not supported.
The Bluetooth device cannot be paired or connected
- Bluetooth ? function on your device is not activated (see page E15 or device manual).
- The system is not in pairing mode; press the STOP/PAIR ⏹️? button to restart pairing.
Music is not available after connecting Bluetooth
- Ensure your Bluetooth device supports the A2DP Bluetooth profile.
- The volume on the external Bluetooth device is set to low or muted; raise as desired.
