Using Seat Belts
Third Row Seat Belts
To ensure correct use of the third-row seat belts, refer to the warnings regarding front and rear seat belts in the "Seat Belts" section of the Owner's Manual.
The third-row seat belt system includes 2 metal tongues and 2 buckles. To correctly fasten the third-row seat belt:
- Smoothly pull out the seat belt and insert the smaller tongue into the outer buckle. The outer buckle has a black button. Insert the tongue into the buckle until it clicks. Pull the belt to ensure it is securely fastened. To release the seat belt, press the black button.
- Insert the larger tongue into the inner buckle. The inner buckle has a red button. Insert the tongue into the buckle until it clicks. To release the seat belt, press the red button.
If the third-row seat belts are not in use, they can be stowed. Remove the seat belts from both buckles and insert the tongues into the slots located at the rear of the luggage compartment.
Note: If the belt is twisted 180°, the tongue will not lock into the buckle. Straighten the belt if it is twisted.

Third Row Seat Belts
The luggage compartment cover can be used even if the third-row seat belts are still attached to the outer buckles.
To deploy and retract the luggage compartment cover without snagging the seat belts, position the seat belt in the clip on the trim panel in the rear of the luggage compartment. For information on the third-row seat belts, see page 2, USING SEAT BELTS.
