SHURE A900-CM Ceiling Mount

1a: Wood joist/drywall

⚠️ WARNING

When installing on a wood joist/beam covered with gypsum board (drywall), verify that the joists or beams are a minimum of 2" x 4" nominal size. Do not install over gypsum board thicker than 5/8".

• 1a-1: Locate the joist or beam. Measure 1/2" (13mm) from the edge.
• 1a-2: Use the template (A) to mark mounting holes on the stud center lines.
• 1a-3: Drill mounting holes into the supporting surface using a 5/32" (4mm) drill bit. A minimum depth of 2.5" (64mm) is required. Ensure the mounting hole is centered on the stud.
• 1a-4: Install using the provided wood screws (D). Maximum torque: 80 in-lb (9 N.M.).

1b: Concrete Ceiling

⚠️ WARNING

When installing on a concrete ceiling, the ceiling must be at least 8" thick with a minimum compressive strength of 2000 psi. Never attach concrete expansion anchors to concrete covered with plaster, drywall, or other finishing material.

• 1b-1: Use the template (A) to mark mounting holes.
• 1b-2: Drill mounting holes into the supporting surface using a 5/16" (8mm) drill bit. A minimum depth of 1.75" (45mm) is required.
• 1b-3: Insert anchor (E) flush to the concrete.
• 1b-4: Install using the concrete anchors (E) and wood screws (D). Maximum torque: 80 in-lb (9 Nm).

1c: Plywood

⚠️ WARNING

When installing on a wood joist/beam covered with plywood, verify that the wood joist/beam are a minimum of 2" x 4" nominal size and the plywood is a minimum Grade BC, 1/2" (13mm) thick. Plywood may be covered by gypsum board (drywall) up to 5/8" thick.

• 1c-1: Locate the joist or beam.
• 1c-2: Use the template (A) to mark mounting holes on the plywood.
• 1c-3: Drill mounting holes into the supporting surface using a 5/32" (4mm) drill bit. A minimum depth of 2.5" (64mm) is required. Ensure the mounting hole is centered on the stud.
• 1c-4: Install using the provided wood screws (D). Maximum torque: 80 in-lb (9 Nm).

1d: Wood joist

1e: Installation onto RACO125 Box

⚠️ WARNING

When installing on a wood joist/beam, verify that the joists/beams are a minimum of 2" x 4" nominal size. Do not install over gypsum board thicker than 5/8".

• 1e-1: Locate the joist or beam. Measure 1/2" (13mm) from the edge.
• 1e-2: Drill mounting holes into the supporting surface using a 5/32" (4mm) drill bit. A minimum depth of 2.5" (64mm) is required. Ensure the mounting hole is centered on the stud.
• 1e-3: Mark mounting holes on stud center lines.
• 1e-4: Note: RACO125 and hardware are not supplied by Peerless-AV. The length of the wood screw must be at least #10 x 1-1/4" plus the thickness of the drywall.
• 1e-5: Attach the A900-CM mount to the RACO125 electrical box. The maximum load capacity for this configuration is 20 lb (9 kg).

2a: For Circular Ceiling Plate

• 2a-1: Attach the ceiling adaptor plate (B) to the ceiling plate (A) using screws (C).
• 2a-2: Use the 4mm allen wrench (F) to secure the assembly. Position the top mounting posts to the ceiling plate first, then position the bottom mounting posts and slide forward. Tighten.

2b: For Square Ceiling Plate

• 2b-1: Attach the ceiling adaptor plate (B) to the ceiling plate (A) using screws (C).
• 2b-2: Use the 4mm allen wrench (F) to secure the assembly. Position the top mounting posts to the ceiling plate first, then position the bottom mounting posts and slide forward. Tighten.
