Quick Start Guide

Introduction

This document provides a quick start guide for the Epson EB-L210SF and EB-L210SW Multimedia Projectors. It covers essential setup, connection, and basic operation steps.

The projector is available with documentation in multiple languages. The primary language for this guide is English.

What's Included

Before starting, ensure you have the following items:

  • Epson EB-L210SF/EB-L210SW Multimedia Projector
  • Remote Control
  • Batteries for Remote Control
  • Power Cable
  • Video Cable (e.g., HDMI or Computer Cable)
  • Lens Cap

Remote Control Battery Installation:

Open the battery cover on the remote control. Insert two AA batteries, observing the correct polarity (indicated by ➕ and ➖ symbols). Close the battery cover.

Connecting the Projector

Follow these steps to connect your projector:

  1. Attach Lens Cap: Place the lens cap on the projector lens to protect it. [Image Description: A hand placing a lens cap onto the projector lens.]

  5. Power On Computer & Display: Turn on your computer. The projector should automatically detect the input source. If not, use the "Source Search" [?] function on the remote. Rear Panel Connections

The projector features various ports for connecting external devices:

  • Power Input: Connect the power cable here.
  • RS-232C: For serial control.
  • Computer 1 (VGA/D-sub 15-pin): Connect to a computer's VGA output using a computer cable [?️].
  • Monitor Out: Output video signal to a monitor.
  • Computer 2 (HDMI): Connect to a computer's HDMI output using an HDMI cable [?].
  • HDMI 1 & HDMI 2: Connect to HDMI sources like Blu-ray players or streaming devices.
  • USB Type A: For connecting streaming media players or other USB-powered devices.
  • USB Type B: Connect to a computer for display or firmware updates.
  • Audio In (R/L): Connect audio sources.
  • Audio Out: Output audio from the projector.
  • Composite Video In: Connect older video devices using a composite cable [▶️].

Example Connections:

  • Power Supply: Connect the power cable to the projector's power input.
  • Streaming Media Player: Connect via USB Type A port.
  • Computer: Connect via USB Type B, Computer cable (VGA), or HDMI cable.
  • Video Device: Connect via Composite cable to the Composite Video In port.

Basic Operations

Control your projector using the remote control and on-screen menus.

  • Zoom: Use the 'W' [?] and 'T' [?] buttons on the remote to zoom in and out.
  • Focus: Adjust the focus ring on the projector lens for a sharp image.
  • Aspect Ratio: Press the 'Aspect' [?] button to cycle through different screen aspect ratios.
  • A/V Mute: Press the 'A/V Mute' [?] button to temporarily blank the screen and mute audio. Press again to resume.
  • Split Screen: Use the 'Split' [↔️] button to display images from two sources simultaneously.
  • Freeze: Press the 'Freeze' [?] button to freeze the current image. Press again to unfreeze.
  • Timer: A timer icon [⏱️] indicates a 5-second delay or operation.

Keystone Correction:

If the projected image is trapezoidal, you can correct it using keystone settings. Access the 'Keystone' [?] menu via the remote control. Adjust 'V-Keystone' (Vertical Keystone) and 'H-Keystone' (Horizontal Keystone) using the navigation buttons. The default setting is 50.

Keystone Correction Details

The keystone correction feature corrects image distortion when the projector is not perfectly perpendicular to the screen.

Vertical Keystone Correction:

When the top or bottom of the image is wider than the other, adjust the 'V-Keystone' setting. Use the 'Menu' [☰] button to access settings, navigate to 'Keystone' [?], and use the 'W' [?] and 'T' [?] buttons (or up/down arrows) to adjust the vertical keystone value. The on-screen display shows the image being corrected from a trapezoid to a rectangle.

Horizontal Keystone Correction:

When the left or right side of the image is wider than the other, adjust the 'H-Keystone' setting. Use the 'Menu' [☰] button, navigate to 'Keystone' [?], and use the 'W' [?] and 'T' [?] buttons (or left/right arrows) to adjust the horizontal keystone value. Remote Control Functions

Familiarize yourself with the remote control buttons:

  • Power: [⚡] Turns the projector on or off.
  • Source Search: [?] Selects the input source (HDMI, Computer, USB, LAN).
  • Number Pad (1-9, 0/All): For direct input selection or number entry.
  • Auto: Automatically adjusts the image settings for computer sources.
  • ID: Sets the projector ID for multi-projector control.
  • Menu: [☰] Opens the main settings menu.
  • Esc: Exits menus or cancels operations.
  • Navigation Buttons: [⬆️] [⬇️] [⬅️] [➡️] and Enter/OK button for navigating menus and making selections.
  • Default: Resets settings to factory defaults.
  • Color Mode: Selects preset color modes.
  • E-Zoom: Electronic zoom control.
  • Volume: [?] Adjusts audio volume.
  • Aspect: [?] Changes the image aspect ratio.
  • A/V Mute: [?] Blanks the screen and mutes audio.
  • Split: [↔️] Enables split-screen display.
  • Freeze: [?] Freezes the current image.
