What's Included
The projector package typically includes the projector unit and essential accessories. Some items may not be included with all projector models, such as batteries for the remote control, cables, and a document CD-ROM.
Included Items (Example): Projector, Remote Control, Power Cable, User Manuals.
Items Not Included (Check your package): Batteries, HDMI Cable, VGA Cable, USB Cable, Document CD-ROM.
Basic Setup and Placement
Projector Placement: Position the projector on a stable surface or mount it appropriately for projection onto a screen or wall. Ensure adequate ventilation around the projector.
Height Adjustment: Use the projector's adjustable foot to tilt the projector upwards and achieve the desired screen height. The foot can be extended or retracted as needed.
Projection Distance: The optimal projection distance depends on the desired screen size. For example, a 50-inch screen might require a distance of approximately 1.5 meters, while a 150-inch screen may need around 4.5 meters. The projector can be angled up to 30 degrees, but this may require keystone correction.
Connecting Your Projector
Power Connection: Connect the power cable to the projector and then to a power outlet.
Video Input: Connect your video source (e.g., laptop, Blu-ray player) to the projector using appropriate cables such as HDMI or VGA. The projector typically has multiple input ports like HDMI1, HDMI2, Computer1, Computer2, USB, and LAN.
Example Connection:
- Connect the power cable to the projector and power outlet.
- Connect an HDMI cable from your laptop to the projector's HDMI port.
- Turn on the projector by pressing the power button [Power].
- Select the correct input source (e.g., HDMI1) using the remote control or projector buttons.
The projector will display the image from the connected source.
Basic Operation and Adjustments
Powering On/Off: Press the power button [Power] on the projector or remote control to turn the unit on or off.
Remote Control Overview: The remote control features buttons for power, source selection (Source Search, HDMI, Computer, USB, LAN), menu navigation (Menu, Esc, arrow keys), and various functions like Color Mode, E-Zoom, Volume, Aspect Ratio, A/V Mute, Split Screen, and Freeze.
Image Adjustments:
- Zoom and Focus: Use the zoom [Zoom] and focus controls (often on the lens or via remote) to adjust the image size and sharpness.
- Color Mode: Select different color modes (e.g., Dynamic, Presentation, Cinema) to optimize image appearance for various content types.
- Aspect Ratio: Adjust the aspect ratio (e.g., 16:9, 4:3) to match your source content.
Keystone Correction: If the projected image appears trapezoidal due to the projector being angled, use the Keystone correction feature (V-Keystone for vertical, H-Keystone for horizontal) via the menu to square the image.
Split Screen: This feature allows you to display images from two different sources simultaneously on the screen.
A/V Mute: Temporarily mutes the audio and blanks the video output.
Freeze: Freezes the current image on the screen.
Connection Guide
Mobile Devices (Android/iOS): Use the Epson iProjection app to connect wirelessly to the projector. Follow on-screen prompts to find and connect to the projector's network (SSID and Password may be required).
Computers (Windows/macOS/Chromebook): Connect via USB or wirelessly using the Epson iProjection app. The projector may display connection details like Projector Name, PIN, and SSID on-screen.
Switching Sources: Use the 'Source Search' or specific input buttons on the remote to switch between connected video sources.
Troubleshooting Tips
Common issues and potential solutions include:
