Know Your EDGE+
[Diagram Description: An illustration of the EDGE+ camera highlights its key ports and features. The RJ45 Port is for connecting an Ethernet cable to a PoE switch or injector. The Backup Power Connection supports a DC12V, 1A input. Line In/Out jacks are for connecting external microphones or speakers for audio, requiring external power. The Reset Button, when held for 5 seconds, resets the camera to factory settings. The Micro SD Card Slot is for recording and is accessed by opening a cover with the screw wrench.]
Mount EDGE+
Find Installation Spot
Mounting a camera requires planning. The EVC5ZB is weatherproof (IP66) and vandal-resistant (IK10), operating between -22°F and 140°F. For optimal viewing, install it 7 to 10 feet above the ground, tilted downward. This height allows for clear facial recognition, and the 106° to 32° field of view covers most areas. Avoid placing the camera behind glass or under overhangs, as these can cause IR light reflection and night vision issues.
[Diagram Description: A visual shows a wall with recommended camera placement at 7ft and 10ft heights, with downward-pointing arrows indicating the tilt. It illustrates the optimal height for capturing faces and the wide field of view.]
Drill Mounting Holes
[Diagram Description: An illustration shows drilling pilot holes (Ø5mm) and a larger hole (Ø30mm) for the cable. It then depicts the camera being mounted to the wall and the Ethernet cable being secured with a cable gland, ensuring IP66 protection.]
Best Mounting Practice
[Diagram Description: Two scenarios are shown. The incorrect method depicts a cable hanging loosely. The correct method shows the cable neatly secured to the wall. The illustration also shows a crimping plier being used on grounding wires (18 AWG min., M3 x 4 screw, Green & Yellow wires).]
Power It Up
Follow these steps to power your EDGE+ camera:
- A Plug the other end of the Ethernet cable into a PoE switch or PoE.
- B Connect the PoE switch or PoE injector to a router with internet access.
- C Prepare a mobile device or computer with internet access for adding the camera.
[Diagram Description: A sequence of illustrations shows the camera's Ethernet cable connecting to a PoE switch/injector, which is then connected to a router. An arrow points from the router to a globe icon, symbolizing internet connectivity, and then to a laptop and smartphone.]
Adjust the Angle
Pan and tilt the camera, then check the video feed in the Turing Vision app to fine-tune the position. Fasten the tilt screw to secure the angle.
[Diagram Description: An illustration shows a hand adjusting the camera's angle. Arrows indicate the pan (0° to 180°) and tilt (0° to 90°) movements. A small screen shows the live view being adjusted.]
