Maintenance & Troubleshooting
General Maintenance
Ensure the unit's power is switched off before cleaning. Clean the surface with warm soapy water and a soft, non-abrasive cloth. In coastal or humid environments, more frequent cleaning is needed to maintain the finish.
Filter
This unit is supplied with an Aluminium filter for ducted installations. The Aluminium filter is dishwasher safe or can be cleaned with hot soapy water. Ensure the filter is thoroughly dry before re-installing.
For recirculating mode, Carbon filters can be purchased separately to eliminate odours. These filters cannot be cleaned and should be replaced every 3-6 months depending on use.
Lamps
Before replacing lamps, ensure they are completely cool and the unit's power is switched off. Replacement lamps can be purchased from customer care. To remove a lamp, twist it in an anti-clockwise direction. Be careful when installing a new lamp to avoid contact with skin, as this may damage the lamp and shorten its life.
Lamp Type: GU10 - 3W LED (x2)
Installation & Ducting
Diagram Description: The rangehood is shown with dimensions in mm. Key dimensions include the width (e.g., 520/750), depth, and duct outlet diameter (Φ150). It is noted as "10A plug fitted".
IMPORTANT: Before handling the rangehood during installation, it is recommended to remove the filter to prevent damage.
Minimum Height Requirements:
The diagram illustrates the minimum height from the hob surface to the underside of the rangehood:
- Electric hob: 600mm
- Gas hob: 650mm
NOTICE: If the instructions for the gas hob specify a greater distance, this must be observed. Any installation above 750mm will compromise performance.
Ducting Options:
Diagrams show three ducting configurations: TOP DUCTING, SIDE DUCTING, and RE-CIRCULATING (requires Carbon filter).
NOTICE: All ducting material must be compliant with local laws.
Installation Steps:
- Remove the filter and light globes (if installed).
- Remove the stainless steel fascia (2 screws) carefully to avoid damage.
- Determine the most efficient path for the ductwork, minimizing bends and keeping the length to a minimum.
- Install roof or wall caps before installing the hood.
- Cut out the cabinetry as per the installation diagram, ensuring access for the power cable.
- With assistance (2 people required), hold the hood up to the underside of the cabinet and screw it securely.
- Attach the ducting adaptor to the ducting.
- Re-install the stainless steel fascia.
- Re-install the filter.
- Plug in the power to the unit, turn it on, and test.
WARNING: Do not penetrate screws into the rangehood casing, as this may result in electrical hazards. Failure to install screws or fixing devices according to these instructions may result in electrical hazards.
